Portfolio Review Session at NMIMS School of Design

Our final-year students at NMIMS School of Design recently had the opportunity to participate in an insightful Portfolio Review Session led by Mr. Rahul Dongre, Sr. VP - Product Design, Kotak Mahindra Bank

The session provided students with valuable industry perspectives on presenting their work, strengthening their portfolios, and effectively communicating their creative journey and design capabilities.

Such interactions help bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, empowering our students to approach their professional journey with greater clarity and confidence.

Our first-year B.Des. (Humanising Technology) students participated in an engaging orientation workshop, "Design for the Real World: Moodboarding & No-Code Tools," conducted by Ms. Diana Koli.

The session introduced students to creative ideation, visual storytelling, and innovative no-code tools, setting the stage for an exciting design journey ahead.

NMIMS School of Design at the BW Future of Design Summit & Awards 2026

Dr. Arundhati Guha Thakurta, Associate Dean, NMIMS School of Design, was invited as a Panelist at the BW Future of Design Summit & Awards 2026, held on 18 September 2026 at Novotel Mumbai International Airport.

Alongside her, nine students from NMIMS School of Design attended the summit, gaining valuable exposure to industry perspectives, emerging design trends and innovative ideas.

Transforming simple paper into intricate geometric masterpieces!

We wrapped up a fascinating session on "Folding Patterns: An Introduction to Origami Tessellations," led by Ms. Hiral Mehta. Participants explored the structural beauty of repetition, discovering how geometric principles and precise folds create captivating, tactile art.

Thank you to Ms. Hiral Mehta for leading a wonderful session, and to all attendees for their focus and creative energy who brought these paper structures to life!

Stepping beyond traditional writing to unlock the expressive power of calligraphy!

We wrapped up an inspiring workshop on "Exploring Letterforms Through Experimental Calligraphy," led by Mr. Saurabh Kesari. Our students of first year B.Des Humanising Technology experimented with unconventional tools and techniques, redefining standard strokes into compelling visual art.

Thank you to everyone who joined and brought their creative energy to the studio! Once again thank you to Mr. Saurabh Kesari for facilitating an engaging experience, and to all the participants for their active participation and creative explorations!
