Our dedicated teachers and staff work closely with the students to impart quality education to every student. On the auspicious day of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, 15th August 1938, the people of Ghatkopar and the surrounding suburbs witnessed the birth of Hindi Vidya Prachar Samiti, a brain child of a visionary Late Shri Nandkishore Singh Jairamji. The Samiti was established with the objectives of c

atering to the educational needs of the Hindi speaking community. It made a humble beginning by starting a primary school, which gradually expanded into a full fledged secondary school. The Hindi High School with its high academic standards has carved for itself a place not only among leading Secondary schools in Mumbai but also educational institutions imparting instructions in Hindi throughout Maharashtra. With its primary objectives achieved the Samiti decided to extend its frontiers and broaden its horizons. As a result, Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala College came into existence in 1963, enabling a larger section of the society to take advantage of the facilities provided for higher education. In 1976 the Junior College section was introduced and in 1981 the Commerce faculty commenced both at the Junior and Degree College level. From 1999-2000 onwards the College has added a number of self-financing courses like BMS, B.B.I, B.Sc. in C.S.,I.T., Biotech, M.Sc. in Computer Science. and Biotechnology as well as add on courses, which further hone the special skills of the students. In the past few years the college has scaled new heights of excellence. It has been reaccredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC in 2009 with a CGPA 3.33 and received the Best College Award (2007-2008) of the University of Mumbai. Recently College has been bestowed with IMC RAMKRISHNA BAJAJ PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE TROPHY, 2010.

🇮🇳 80th Independence Day Celebration at R. J. College

R. J. College proudly celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm.

The programme was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Usha Mukundan, Director, Hindi Vidya Prachar Samiti, in the presence of Dr. Himanshu Dawda, Principal, R. J. College.

The celebration included an inspiring NCC Parade, cultural performances by NCC, NSS and students, and the “Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat 2047” pledge.

We were honoured by the presence of Shri Shrikant Adate, Senior Police Inspector, Unit-9, Ghatkopar (West), Mumbai, and Shri Anil Dole, Senior Police Inspector, who joined our students and staff in taking the pledge for a Drug-Free India.

Together, let us empower our youth and contribute to a healthier, safer and Viksit Bharat 2047. 🇮🇳

🔬 Science Conference 2026 Successfully Organized at R J College 🌟
Hindi Vidya Prachar Samiti's Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala College of Arts, Science & Commerce (Empowered Autonomous), Mumbai, in collaboration with Marathi Vidnyan Parishad, successfully organized Science Conference 2026 on 1 August 2026, bringing together renowned scientists, academicians, educators, and students to celebrate the spirit of scientific inquiry and innovation.
The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Suhas Pednekar, Former Vice-Chancellor, University of Mumbai, who delivered an inspiring keynote address. He emphasized that in today's world, it is not only Einstein's famous equation E = mc² or Newton's laws that matter, but rather E = F – Education = Future. He encouraged students to pursue knowledge with dedication and apply their learning towards the progress and development of the nation.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Principal Dr. Himanshu Dawda, while Mr. A. P. Deshpande, Executive Member of Marathi Vidnyan Parishad, introduced the vision and activities of the Parishad.
The conference featured an engaging lineup of sessions that highlighted the importance of science, creativity, and career opportunities:

The event was graced by the presence of Principal Dr. Himanshu Dawda, Director Dr. Usha Mukundan, distinguished office bearers of Marathi Vidnyan Parishad, esteemed faculty members, invited guests, and enthusiastic students.
More than 400 First-Year B.Sc. (FYBSc) students actively participated in the conference, making it a vibrant platform for learning, interaction, and inspiration. Their enthusiastic participation reflected the growing interest in scientific research, innovation, and emerging career opportunities in STEM.
R J College remains committed to fostering scientific temper, innovation, and experiential learning by creating opportunities for students to interact with eminent academicians and industry experts.

🎓 Degree Certificate Distribution Ceremony | Postgraduate Batch 2024–25 | Celebrating Excellence and New Beginnings

Hindi Vidya Prachar Samiti's Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala College of Arts, Science & Commerce (Empowered Autonomous Status) proudly organized the Degree Certificate Distribution Ceremony for the Postgraduate Batch 2024–25 on 18 July 2026 at Saboo Hall.

The ceremony was graced by Shri Mahendrakumar Kabra, Managing Director, RR Kabel Limited, Mumbai, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Rajendra Singh, President, Hindi Vidya Prachar Samiti, as the Guest of Honour. The occasion was also marked by the esteemed presence of Dr. Usha Mukundan, Principal Dr. Himanshu Dawda, Vice Principal Capt. Pravin Nayak, Dr. Sneha Deuskar, and Dr. Kiran Kolwankar.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by Principal Dr. Himanshu Dawda, who greeted the distinguished guests, faculty members, graduates, and parents.

Addressing the graduates, Dr. Rajendra Singh inspired students by emphasizing that there is no substitute for hard work and that the greatest competition is with oneself.

The Academic Report for the year 2024–25 was presented by Prof. Pravin Nayak, Deputy Controller of Examinations, highlighting the remarkable achievements of students and faculty. The graduating students were then conferred their degree certificates by Shri Mahendrakumar Kabra, who congratulated them on their academic accomplishments.

In his inspiring address, Shri Mahendrakumar Kabra highlighted the timeless values of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" and "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah", encouraging graduates to embrace integrity, avoid procrastination, and pursue excellence with dedication and purpose.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Sneha Deuskar, Vice Principal, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, dignitaries, faculty members, administrative staff, students, and parents for making the event a memorable success.

The ceremony was seamlessly compered by Ms. Aishwarya Parab (Department of Botany) and Mr. Nilesh Ghadge (Department of Commerce), and concluded with the National Anthem.
