The program organised by the XPSA on the occasion of 15th August was indeed a success. It was engaging, inspiring and induced a feeling of patriotism in all the participants. The distinguished speaker line up was as follows:
1. Mrs. Premlata Gupta
Ma'am shared her memories from the 1947 Partition. The struggles, the losses and sacrifices that she and her family had to go through, while leaving everything in Lahore ro come and settle in Punjab, gave us goosebumps even while hearing her narration. The entire talk was a mixture of emotions that brought tears as well as a smile on our faces. Her message to the young ones got etched in our minds and hearts, when with teary eyes she sang "Hum laye hain toofan se kishti nikal ke, is desh ko rakhna mere bachcho Shambhal ke"....
2. Mr. Shakti Sinha
A former IAS officer, Mr Sinha is the Director of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Policy Research and International Studies in Vadodara.
He has served as the private secretary and joint secretary to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Sir enlightened us with his immense knowledge in the session today by encapsulating the freedom struggle of India in his talk, throwing light on the turning points, errors of judgements and the struggle for freedom.
3. Captain Alok Bansal
Capt Bansal has served in the Indian Navy for 32 years. He is a geopolitical and strategic expert. He shared enriching knowledge on unsung heroes of the Indian freedom struggle. He highlighted the importance of knowing four history and finding the details about those who laid their lives to free India but remained unknown due to our ignorance.
We would like to thank the speakers, participants, audience and our professors from the bottom of our heart for making this event a success.
