The Graduation Ceremony & Farewell of the SSC Batch of 2025–2026 at St. Dominic Savio High School was a heartwarming blend of joy, nostalgia, and celebration as the outgoing batch set sail towards new horizons.

The programme began with a melodious welcome song by Std IX, creating a vibrant atmosphere as students and teachers gathered for this special occasion. The theme “Sailing Ahead with Hope, Peace, and Purpose” beautifully captured the spirit of the day. A meaningful prayer service and the lighting of symbolic candles reminded students of the values they carry forward.

Rector and Manager, Rev. Fr. Francisco Pereira inspired the students with his message to remain hopeful, grounded, and true to their values. The oath-taking ceremony, led by School Captain Mast. Vinayak Rathod, marked a proud and emotional milestone as the batch was declared graduates.

The celebration continued with energetic performances and a nostalgic audio-visual journey through their school years. A touching poem, “The Last Bell Rings,” added an emotional note to the farewell.

Primary Section House Closing Ceremony 2025–26

The Primary section of St. Dominic Savio High School held the House Closing Ceremony on 14th March 2026, marking the conclusion of the House System for the academic year 2025–26.

The ceremony began with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, followed by a melodious musical performance by the students. The House Prefects then led a prayer thanking God for the blessings and achievements of the year in academics, discipline, co-curricular activities, leadership, and teamwork.

A meaningful moment of the programme was the symbolic handing over of responsibilities. The School Captain, Vice Captain, and their team formally entrusted their duties to the Rector, marking the completion of their term of leadership and service.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony recognized the achievements of the houses. Red House and Blue House jointly received the award for Best House in Studies. Yellow House was awarded Best House in Co-Curricular Activities, while Green House received the award for Best House in Discipline and was also declared the Overall Champion House. The award for Best Class in Cleanliness was presented to Std. 4A.

Rev. Fr. Francisco Pereira then declared the House System closed for the academic year 2025–26. Referring to the theme *“Anchored in Hope: Pilgrims with the Young on the Path of Peace,”* he explained that just as an anchor steadies a ship, students too have anchors in their lives—teachers, parents, and friends—who guide and support them. He reminded the students that true leadership means accompanying and motivating others to live life well. He encouraged them to carry forward the values of cooperation, discipline, and responsibility, inspiring hope and leadership in others.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by the Captain and Vice Captain. The Principal then announced the new Student Council for the academic year 2026–27. The symbolic passing of the school flag from the outgoing Captain to the Principal and then to the newly appointed Captain signified the continuation of leadership.

The programme ended with the School Anthem, leaving everyone with a sense of unity, pride, and commitment to the Salesian values upheld by the school.

With this inspiring thought, the Primary Section of St. Dominic Savio High School, Andheri, celebrated its Graduation Day for the academic year 2025–2026 on March 7, 2026, in the school assembly hall. The ceremony marked an important milestone for the students of Standard IV as they completed their primary education and prepared to begin a new academic journey.

The celebration was attended by dignitaries, teachers, and parents. The theme, “Anchored in Hope: Pilgrims with Young People on the Path of Peace,” beautifully reflected the values of the school. The young graduates were escorted into the hall by their class teachers, followed by a prayer service seeking God’s blessings for their future.

The cultural programme began with a welcome song and a touching video presentation of memorable moments from the students’ primary years. On 7th March 2026, St. Dominic Savio High School celebrated Women’s Day with warmth, gratitude, and joyful camaraderie. The Pre-primary section organised a lively Letter Pool Day for Jr. KG students on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Planned by the English teacher, Ms. Glacxy Ferrao, the event transformed alphabet learning into a joyful and engaging experience for the little Savions.

The day began with an energetic ABC action song that got the children excited and ready to learn. Students then enjoyed the creative Alphabet Parking Lot activity, where they parked letter cars in their matching spaces, helping them recognise small letters. The young learners also matched objects with their corresponding letters using phonics sounds, such as pairing B with Ball.

The excitement continued with letter wheel cars, where students matched wheels with the correct alphabet letters. They also explored letter sequences through a cheerful Alphabet Train activity in the corridor.

A Heartfelt Thanksgiving: Celebrating a Year of Blessings

On 6th March 2026, the Primary Section of St. Dominic Savio High School held a meaningful Thanksgiving Prayer Service to mark the end of the academic year. The service brought together students from Std I to Std IV to thank God for the many blessings, learning experiences, and achievements of the year.

The program began with a warm introduction highlighting the importance of gratitude and reminding students that promotion to the next class is both a milestone and a responsibility. This was followed by the opening hymn “Bind Us Together, Lord,” creating a calm and reflective atmosphere.

An opening prayer thanked God for guiding the students through their studies, examinations, friendships, and daily school life, while also acknowledging the support of teachers, parents, and school staff. During the Prayers of the Faithful, students offered prayers with symbolic tokens such as a textbook, friendship band, colours, computer image, sports equipment, cross, flower, and heart.

Tiny Tots, Big Numbers: A Joyful Math Adventure

On Monday, 2nd March 2026, the Jr. KG students enjoyed an exciting celebration of numbers during Number Day Blast. The Math teacher, Ms. Soma Bhowmik, planned a series of lively and hands-on activities to strengthen number sense and basic numeracy skills.

The day began with a cheerful Number Song that instantly energized the young learners. Fun-filled tasks followed as children searched for their number on the number chair, matched popsicle numbers with ice cream dots to find their number partners, and arranged puzzle pieces to form a colourful car using numbers 1 to 9. A floor activity helped them recognise numbers and connect them with correct values.

The celebration concluded with a worksheet where students counted and wrote objects as seen on a picture, sharpening their skills. Number Day turned learning into joyful play and sparked a love for maths.

Building Respectful Habits at School: Good Manners, Etiquettes and Personal Space

A valuable session on Good Manners, Etiquettes and Personal Space at School was conducted in the Primary Section by Ms. Teresa Dias, the school counsellor for Grades 1 to 4. The session focused on building discipline, respect, and positive behaviour among students.

Ms. Teresa explained ten important points: following the line rule, maintaining the correct voice level, listening to others, and raising hands to speak. She also spoke about respecting personal space, keeping hands and belongings to oneself, and maintaining proper sitting position and chair etiquettes. Students were encouraged to use greeting and kind words and to ensure classroom cleanliness at all times.

Honouring the Hands that Help Us Shine: Celebrating the Silent Pillars of Our School

Guided by the thought “Gratitude turns what we have into enough,” St. Dominic Savio High School organised a collaborative felicitation for its Support Staff through meaningful programmes in each of the sections.

The Primary Section conducted a prayer service on the theme “Hands that serve, Hearts that shine.” The support staff were welcomed with cheerful music and warm applause from the Management, Principal, teachers, and students. The Vice Principal introduced each staff member, acknowledging their years of service and silent dedication that keeps the school running smoothly. The Student Council honoured them by pinning favours, symbolising respect and the dignity of labour. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Support Staff reflected unity and the equal importance of every role. A solemn prayer service followed, seeking God’s blessings for their health and families, and teachers presented a heartfelt thank-you song.

The Secondary Section held a felicitation programme where Rev. Fr. Jeswin Mastan praised each staff member for their individual duties and constant support. Rev Fr. Franco Pereira, Rector and Manager, thanked them for their invaluable service and encouraged all to practise hard work, dedication, and compassion. Mast. From Gratitude to Glory: A Fitting Farewell to a Remarkable Year

With gratitude blossoming into achievement and memories etched in pride, the Secondary Section of St. Dominic Savio High School concluded the academic year 2025–26 with an inspiring House Closing Ceremony. The celebration traced the school’s journey through academics, sports, and co-curricular pursuits, reminding everyone that teamwork builds triumphs.

A formal moment marked the symbolic handing over of badges by the School Captains and House Prefects to the Rector, signifying duty honourably fulfilled. Senior Vice Captain Mast. Aiden Coutinho voiced heartfelt thanks on behalf of the student leaders.

Applause followed the prize distribution as Rua, Zatti, Magone, and Rinaldi Houses shone in Studies, Discipline, and Activities across Juniors, Inters, and Seniors sections, while Rinaldi House claimed the Overall Trophy.
Class VII B and Class VIII B were honoured for exemplary classroom cleanliness.

Tiny Heroes, Big Lessons: Community Helpers Day

On Saturday, 28 February 2026, our Pre-Primary section celebrated Community Helpers Day with joy and colour. The aim was to introduce children to everyday heroes and build respect for their service.

Students arrived dressed as doctors, firefighters, police officers, reporters and teachers. The EVS teacher, Ms. Diana Mascarenhas, designed lively activities to make learning fun. The programme opened with a cheerful poem, followed by Show and Tell, where little Savions spoke about their chosen helper, boosting confidence and speaking skills.

Teachers explained the work of different helpers and the need to thank those who keep us safe, healthy and educated. In class, children matched helpers to their tools on a wheel and solved a community-helper puzzle in groups, encouraging teamwork and thinking skills. A worksheet activity further reinforced their learning through matching exercises.

The celebration successfully widened students’ understanding of the world beyond home. It nurtured gratitude, respect and curiosity about important jobs in society. The children left with bright smiles and a lasting appreciation for the helpers who serve us every day. Their enthusiasm made the campus truly vibrant.
