Celebration of National Pharmacy Education Day – 6th March 2026
The Department of Pharmacy and NSS unit at Premlila Vithaldas Polytechnic SNDT Women’s University, Santacruz, Mumbai, celebrated National Pharmacy Education Day on 6th March 2026 in accordance with the guidelines of the Pharmacy Council of India. The program was organized under the theme “Entrepreneurship & Startups in Pharma and Pharmacy Practice – Encouraging Innovation, Incubation Centers, and Pharmaceutical Startups.”
The objective of the event was to create awareness among pharmacy students about entrepreneurial opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector and to encourage innovative thinking, startup culture, and the development of new ideas in pharmacy practice.
The celebration was conducted at Premlila Vithaldas Polytechnic SNDT Women’s University, Santacruz, Mumbai, with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members of the Department of Pharmacy. The program highlighted the growing importance of entrepreneurship in the pharmaceutical field and motivated students to explore innovative career paths beyond traditional professional roles.
The Chief Guest and Speaker for the program was Neeta Dhamankar, an alumna of SNDT Women’s University (Batch May 1999). She has more than 26 years of experience in Retail Pharmacy and Pharmacy Management and is a successful entrepreneur known for integrating professional excellence with ethical healthcare practices. Her presence added great value to the program and provided students with an opportunity to interact with an experienced professional from the pharmacy field.
Another important segment of the program was an Interaction with an Entrepreneur, where students had the opportunity to engage with the chief guest and gain insights into the challenges and opportunities involved in establishing pharmaceutical startups. During the session, Neeta Dhamankar shared her real-life experiences in retail pharmacy and management, highlighting the importance of dedication, innovation, and ethical practices in building a successful pharmaceutical business. Her interaction inspired students and encouraged them to explore entrepreneurship as a promising career path in the pharmacy profession.
At the end of the program, a Quiz Competition was organized to assess students’ knowledge related to pharmaceutical sciences, innovations, and entrepreneurship in healthcare. Students actively participated with great enthusiasm, making the competition lively and engaging. The quiz helped strengthen students’ understanding of current developments in the pharmaceutical field and encouraged healthy academic competition among participants.
The celebration concluded with appreciation for the active participation of students and the dedicated efforts of faculty members who organized the program. The event proved to be informative and inspiring, reinforcing the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in shaping the future of pharmacy professionals.
