𝐀 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤. 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬. 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞.

That was the challenge at the heart of an action-packed business partnering simulation we ran for 60+ finance managers at IHCL.

Participants stepped into the realities of running a hotel unit: balancing commercial pressures, operational demands and decisions where every choice created a ripple effect.

Then came the plot twist.

They faced the same situations twice: first individually, then as teams.

The shift from “my decision” to “our decision” sparked lively conversations around instinct, influence, trade-offs and how judgement changes when more voices (and higher stakes) enter the room.

25 mid-senior leaders at ELGi discovered this during the recently concluded Business Acumen workshop at Coimbatore.

Themes of strategic thinking, competitive advantage, decision making came to life with 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐏𝐑𝐎, our proprietary business simulation designed around capacity, pricing, investment, margins and long-term growth decisions.

One team delayed expansion to protect profitability. This felt like a sensible call, at least initially, as the numbers held good.

Then demand rose, competitors scaled and the market moved faster than expected. Suddenly, the decision that had protected performance was limiting growth.
