Xavier's Zoology Association

Xavier's Zoology Association A humble college association intent on giving animals the importance and respect they deserve. We do not claim to be valiant tree-huggers.

OLIVE RIDDLE ME REGISTRATION LINK: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf3arFWfILcbd1SsyArHZax5WGw0s6FVJZxd7sUY0W1yO-VkQ/viewform The Xavier's Zoology Association aims to create a spirit of oneness among all living beings that inhabit this planet. Be it plants, animals, the creepy-crawlies, those scaly reptiles - anything and everything that you've either loved from time immemorial or have ha

ted and/or are terrified of - we have something for you. We do not claim to traverse the seven seas and save some whale species that we've never even heard of before in our lives. We do not aim to flaunt our DSLRs and impress the world with the rugged, outdoorsy charm that that begets. We're not going to make you Jane Goodall after just one of our workshops or monsoon outings. We're not going to bring kittens up in the Moffice. No, we're not all of that, and neither are we going to be. What we are is a bunch of college kids that have been fortunate enough to experience the wonderment and limitless joy that comes with being out there. In the true sense of the phrase, most of us have, in fact, "been there and done that", and the few that haven't are anxious to. If you are too, or simply feel like you've been missing out on something essential every time you watch a squirrel scurry across the footpath on the way to college from VT/Marine Lines, we hope you feel at home here. We hope we live up to our own expectations from this organisation - nothing too lofty, but something from the heart. If nothing else, we hope to achieve a place in your hearts and heads, and help you make more responsible choices everyday, so that we can, together, make a difference.

No need to hold your horses, the mammoth wait has ended!

The time has come to get transported into the realm of unique biotic interactions and then waltz away with a ton of delectable facts and knowledge.

From microbes to dinosaurs, from the deep-sea anglerfish to
the vernal hanging parrot, this is the most diverse issue yet! Filled to the brim with gorgeous illustrations and informative side-notes that make the experience of reading it that much more enriching.

Read the most thorough and heartfelt explanations from experts for their own research at the cutting edge of their fields. On the other hand, the infinitely interesting interactions chosen by the students of various institutions as the focus of their articles provides us with extremely informative reads.

This year's edition of our annual departmental magazine, 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘵: Allies and Adversaries is now officially live! We hope you read it and enjoy the experience. Find the link for the same in our bio.

'Crocodile tears' are associated with the insincere act of luring unsuspecting people for sympathy. This, however, is far from the truth. While crocodiles are indeed ferocious, their aforementioned tears are utilised by insects like bees and butterflies in a unique way, unharmed by the crocodile.

Come and join Dr. Carlos de la Rosa as he explores this fascinating phenomenon in the latest edition of Imprint.

Stay tuned for this year's edition of our annual departmental magazine, Imprint: Allies and Adversaries, releasing on 7th March, 2021
