MDI Murshidabad commenced the three-day executive programme, *“The Foundations of Corporate Management, Strategic Alignment and Interpersonal Dynamics,”* on 24 August 2026.

The first day featured engaging sessions focused on strengthening managerial perspectives, understanding strategic alignment, and exploring the role of interpersonal dynamics in effective leadership and organisational success.

MDI Murshidabad had the pleasure of welcoming Shri Gaddam Sudhir Reddy, IAS, Sub-Divisional Officer, Jangipur, to the campus for an engaging interaction with Prof. (Dr.) Jayanthi Ranjan, Director, MDI Murshidabad, along with faculty members and the Institute’s leadership.

The visit provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the development of the Jangipur–Murshidabad region and discuss issues of wider regional significance. The interaction touched upon the Farakka Barrage and its hydrological, ecological and socio-economic dimensions, including changes in river flows, agriculture, fisheries, localised flooding, riverbank shifts and their impact on communities.
The discussion also explored how academic research, interdisciplinary inquiry and evidence-based analysis can contribute to a deeper understanding of regional challenges and support informed conversations around development and public policy.

Such interactions strengthen the connection between academia and public institutions, creating opportunities to share knowledge, identify areas of mutual interest and contribute meaningfully to the development of the region.

On 24th August 1908, in a small village of Khed near Pune, a boy was born who would grow up to give his life for the freedom of a nation. His name was Shivaram Hari Rajguru.

A key member of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association, Rajguru was known for his sharp focus, quiet resolve, and unwavering commitment to India's freedom struggle. At just 22 years old, he became one of the youngest martyrs of the independence movement, standing firm in his convictions until the very end.

MDI Murshidabad remembers Shivaram Hari Rajguru on his birth anniversary, not as a name in a textbook, but as a reminder of how young courage can be, and how far its echo can travel.

Independence Day is a reminder that freedom finds its true meaning when every voice has the space to be heard, every talent has the freedom to be expressed and every young mind has the opportunity to discover its potential.

This Independence Day, MDI Murshidabad brought together students from different schools for a lively celebration of talent, knowledge and expression. With student performances, thoughtful addresses by MDI faculty members and an engaging quiz that saw participants put their knowledge and skills to the test, the campus came alive with curiosity and enthusiasm. Primarily organised by the Aakriti Committee, the celebration was supported by members of the MDI community, making it a shared expression of the spirit of the day.

The celebration went beyond remembering our freedom. It reflected what we hope freedom continues to give every young mind: the confidence to question, the courage to express and the opportunity to grow.
