🌍 Only One Earth - Let's Protect Our Unique and Beautiful Planet!" 🌱
Today, on the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, the NSS Unit of LBRCE organized a grand Environmental Protection and Tree Plantation drive to raise awareness about ecological conservation.
Here are the key highlights from our esteemed speakers:
Dr. K. Appa Rao (Principal):Addressed the gathering on the alarming rise in global temperatures due to deforestation. He urged everyone to actively plant trees to build a 'Green Andhra Pradesh,' emphasizing the urgent need to conserve soil and curb vehicular, industrial, and river water pollution.
Dr. B. Ramesh Reddy (Vice Principal): Stressed that protecting nature is the only way to safeguard our future. He highlighted how such initiatives instill a deep sense of environmental responsibility and awareness among the student community.
Dr. B. Siva Hari Prasad (NSS Program Officer): Warned about the severe threats posed by drastic climate changes to human and animal existence. He advocated for increasing green cover, minimizing plastic usage, controlling pollution (water, air, and noise), and protecting the ozone layer.
The event concluded with an active tree plantation drive on campus, led by the Principal, Vice Principal, Dr. M.B.S. Sreekara Reddy (HOD, Mechanical Engineering), Sri S. Uma Maheswara Reddy, along with the enthusiastic participation of our faculty and students.

πŸ₯› Quenching Thirst, Serving Communities: A Summer Relief Initiative at Velvadam πŸ₯›
Today (Thursday, 21-05-2026), a massive buttermilk distribution drive served over 1,000 commuters and villagers at the Velvadam Main Center cooling water kiosk, helping them beat the scorching summer heat.
This impactful event was organized in loving memory of Late Sri Yaramala Venu Gopala Reddy, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Sri Yaramala Rambhupal Reddy (USA).
The initiative was executed seamlessly by the 1987-1992 Alumni Association of Smt. Lakireddy Papulamma Memorial ZPHS (Velvadam). Chief guests Sri Sheelam Phanindra Reddy, Sri Sheelam Brahma Reddy, Gopalam Master, Sri Davuluri Ganesh, and Sri Talluri Murali joined the event to distribute the buttermilk.
Sri Guduru Nagireddy (Alumni Representative & Secretary/Treasurer, Indian Red Cross Society, Mylavaram Sub-Branch) extended his deep gratitude to the donor. He also noted that the association aims to turn this into a daily distribution drive if more donors step forward to support the cause this summer.

Prioritizing Student Safety: District-Wide Inspection of Educational Institution Vehicles
Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Shri K. Siva Rama Goud conducted a comprehensive safety inspection of school and college buses across the district to ensure strict adherence to Central Motor Vehicle Rules and road safety standards.
During the inspections, the MVI focused on critical safety parameters, identifying several lapses such as:
Missing or non-functional Emergency Doors.
Inadequate Fire Protection Systems and expired fire extinguishers.
Lack of Safety Hammers and First Aid Kits.
On May 12th, a special inspection and safety workshop were held at Lakireddy Bali Reddy College of Engineering (LBRCE). A live evacuation demo was conducted to train drivers, attenders, and staff on rescuing students during emergencies. MVI Siva Rama Goud also provided hands-on training on the proper usage of fire extinguishers.
The event was attended by College Principal Dr. K. Appa Rao, the Transport Coordinator, and other officials.

Sri Kishore Babu Garu (Circle Inspector, Mylavaram): Emphasized how substance abuse is destroying the vibrant lives of our youth. He urged students to prioritize their health and future over temporary, destructive highs.
Sri Sudhakar Garu (Sub-Inspector, Mylavaram): Highlighted that drug addiction is far more dangerous than smoking or alcohol. He warned that it leads to social isolation, criminal tendencies, and severe mental health crises, including suicidal thoughts.
