The 15th-Day Sojong Ceremony

Monks and nuns gathered inside the main temple to observe the 15th-day Sojong (Poṣadha / bi-monthly purification ceremony). The ceremony was presided over by President Khen Rinpoche Dawa Paljor.

Propelled by the favourable winds of heedfulness,
May the vessel of moral discipline sail to the jewel-island of higher realms;
And mounting the riches of liberation atop the victory banner of pure motivation,
May it fulfil and satisfy all beings with every wish-granting benefit and bliss!

In recognition of the dedicated and tireless efforts of the students from both Ngagyur Nyingma Institute (NNI) and Ngagyur Nyingma Nunnery Institute (NNNI), President Khen Rinpoche Dawa Paljor awarded certificates of commendation and prizes to those who secured first, second, and third places.

Conclusion of the Summer Retreat

This morning, the Sangha of monks and nuns from NNI and NNNI gathered in the main assembly hall. Seated according to monastic seniority, the assembly was led by the Summer Retreat Khenpo.

In accordance with the manual on the Three Grounds of Vinaya, 373 fully ordained monks (bhikṣus), headed by the Abbot, and 777 novice monks (śrāmaṇeras) performed the Pravāraṇā ceremony.

This brought this year’s summer rains retreat (Yarne) to a successful and auspicious conclusion.

May this place be filled to the brim with assemblies
�Of saffron-robed holders of the three higher trainings;
�Through perpetual study and practice until the end of existence,
�May all be auspicious for the Buddha's teachings to flourish in every direction!

Preparatory Practice for the Gagye (Pravāraṇā) Ceremony

This evening, September 10, 2026, inside the main temple, Orgyen Do-ngak Shedrub Osel Dargye Ling, the Summer Retreat Khenpo of NNI, Thubten Lodoe Dawa, delivered a Dharma discourse to the assembled Sangha and lay devotees. He taught from the fourth chapter of The Sutra of the Wise and the Foolish, focusing on the account of selling one's body to make offerings.

Furthermore, the students of NNI presented expositions and engaged in philosophical debates. Finally, the preparatory practice for the Gagye ceremony (the lifting of the summer retreat restrictions) was successfully concluded with the recitation of auspicious prayers.

The symposium featuring selected 8th-year students, held as part of the summer retreat activities, successfully concluded this evening at NNI.

The session was presided over by President Khen Rinpoche Dawa Paljor and moderated by Lopon Karma Tshering.

The first presenter, 8th-year student Phurba Tsering, spoke on the topic: "An Analysis of Apoha (Exclusion of Others): Conceptual Appearances."

The second presenter, 8th-year student Pema Gyaltsen Gurung, presented: "Searching for the Footprints of the Daughter of Brahma: A Song of a Simple Child."

In addition to this symposium, the students who participated in the exposition, debate, and composition during Summer Retreat did not treat their duties as mere formalities or a way to pass the time. Instead, they elucidated difficult scriptural points, supporting them with authentic citations and logical reasoning.

From now until the end of existence for all beings,

By upholding, preserving, and spreading throughout the reaches of space.

May the teachings of the Lake-born Victor flourish!
