Exposition and Debate at NNI

As part of the summer retreat activities, students participated in exposition and debate examinations at NNI for two days, from the 20th to the 21st of August, 2026.

* Sixth- and seventh-year students conducted their 'Exposition Examinations' (oral discourses on the texts).
* First- through fourth-year students showcased their skills in the 'Debate Examinations.

A ground-breaking ceremony was conducted today at NNI to sanctify the site for the construction of new monastic residences.

The event commenced with the Sojong ritual of restoration and purification.This was followed by the presentation of White Tormas (Kartor) and Golden Libations (Serkyem) to the local deities.

To conclude, the site was formally consecrated with the recitation of the Tashi Tsekpa (The Sutra of the Heap of Good Fortune) and additional auspicious prayers.

May the work we are now about to begin
be free from all obstacles and imminent dangers,
And, meeting with ever-growing fulfillment and success,
bring good fortune, prosperity, happiness, and peace!

The Auspicious Sojong Ceremony

The auspicious Sojong (Confession and Restoration) ceremony was held this morning inside the main temple, Orgyen Do-Ngag Shedrub Osel Dargyeling.

The ceremony was presided over by President Khen Rinpoche Dawa Paljor. A total of 1,158 participants, including fully ordained monks (Bhikshus) and novices (Shramaneras), took part in accordance with the Vinaya tradition.

May the knowledge of Dharma bring auspiciousness; may auspiciousness arise.
May all that is auspicious make everything auspicious.
May there be the auspiciousness of fame and the virtue of renown.
