Centre for Architecture is being set up under the approval and guidelines the Council of Architecture, New Delhi, a statutory body for Architecture in India. A 5-year undergraduate program leading to a Bachelor of Architecture degree will be offered under the aegis of the Visweswaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, Karnataka. Centre for Architecture is a collaboration of two educational trusts. Sri Jayachamaraja Ursu Education Trust ( SJUET ), Mysuru and Design Foundation for Study, Education and Research ( Design Foster ), Bengaluru. Some features of the program include

The primary guiding principle of the program is to make significant contributions in the field of architectural education within a framework of professional integrity and ethics in a manner consistent with academic and institutional autonomy and excellence, social equity and humane values. The School will foster an inter-professional; inter disciplinary approach to architectural education, practice and research. The program will focus on sensitizing and giving the students a firm grounding in theoretical thinking, heritage of the built environment, contextual and socially appropriate architecture. A method of teaching and learning that embodies a multiplicity of learning possibilities, helping the students bridge the gap between academics and the profession. The focus of education at the Centre for Architecture will be highlighting that architecture is not about only innovating, but to be of consequence and critical value to the settlement and society. Centre for Architecture has set up an autonomous Academic Council consisting of eminent professionals and academicians other than the trustees to form guidelines and ensure creation of an academic program beyond the guiding principles of the existing University syllabi.

WCFA is honored to have received a signed copy of the limited edition of the Glen Murcutt's Folio that was presented to the college by Ar. Bijoy Ramachandran in the presence of the Glenn Murcutt Masterclass team and the publisher. We are proud to be the only recipient of the Folio in India now at our library as a prized possession rough costing INR 98,000.

The 'Glenn Murcutt Portfolio' represents a very special kind of publication fitting for a grand master of design. It contains a detailed investigation of 8 of his projects. The Glenn Murcutt Folio weighs in at close to eight kilos - it includes the box, book, drawings, photo booklets and eight project folders. A product of hard work, passion and love, it is analogous to Murcutt’s houses; surprisingly simple in presentation yet carefully resolved and detailed. The folio has brought together the combined talents of writers from Australia, Finland, and the USA including eminent author David Malouf (Australia) and Juhani Pallasmaa (Finland), as well as many leading architectural photographers. The keynote essay is by Kenneth Frampton.

Opportunities need to be created for multidisciplinary enquires and participatory approach towards achieving a unified people’s vision for the city.
The study group intends to initiate a process by which the latest tools, technologies and capabilities can be pooled together to bring about synergistic efforts towards making sustainability a possibility and not just a rhetoric.
Event water hole, will focus on the ecological layer – water. This WCFA City connect event will explore Mysuru's changing relationship with its water bodies.
