Today, six students from the Department of Political Science, Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya had the privilege to participate in the National Seminar on “Ethnic Identity, Autonomy and Democratic Participation in North East India” organized by ASBC College under the sponsorship of the Indian Council of Social Science Research.
The department was represented through three groups with their respective research papers:

3. “Relative Deprivation and Ethnic Assertion: A Study of the Bodo Movement in Assam”

The seminar provided a valuable academic platform to engage with important discussions on ethnicity, autonomy, governance, and democratic participation in Northeast India. It also offered an enriching opportunity to interact with scholars, researchers, and students from various institutions.
We sincerely thank ASBC College for successfully organizing such an insightful and meaningful national seminar and for creating a space where young researchers and students could learn, present, and exchange ideas. Gratitude is also extended to all the respected organizers, faculty members, and coordinators for their warm hospitality and continuous support throughout the programme.
Special thanks to Dipankar Biswas for his constant guidance and dedicated support in helping the students prepare their seminar papers. We also express our heartfelt gratitude to Shibu Biswas for assisting and supporting the students throughout the day of the seminar.
A proud and memorable moment for the Department of Political Science, MSSV. ✨
