Imagine a roller coaster at Sassoon Dock! 🌊

In our latest Studio Showcase, Iqrar Ahmad Ansari takes us through his innovative V&C studio project, completed under the expert guidance of Ar. Ameya Barbadikar.

Stepping away from traditional architectural perspectives, Iqrar explored the realm of experiential design. Using the No Limits Simulator, he designed a thrilling roller coaster situated at the iconic Sassoon Dock in Colaba, Mumbai. The ultimate goal of his project? To beautifully integrate and relate the vibrant Koli community to the site through imaginative, out-of-the-box design. 💡

What if design wasn't about finding the right answers - but asking better questions?

At IDEAS, students explored the power of speculative design through an inspiring masterclass by Shikha .parmar , Founder of FARLIGHT Labs. From questioning existing systems to imagining alternative futures, the session encouraged participants to think beyond conventional briefs and embrace uncertainty as a space for innovation.

Ideas took shape through sketches, narratives, diagrams, and prototypes before being presented in an engaging open critique, where dialogue, reflection, and feedback became catalysts for stronger design thinking.

The session reminded us that imagination is not just creativity—it's a discipline that can be cultivated, tested, and transformed into meaningful design.

The future isn't predicted. It's prototyped.

We had the privilege of hosting a soulful S**C MACAY event at IDEAS, Nagpur, featuring an extraordinary performance by Dr. Sangeeta Shankar on violin and Mr. Abhishek Mishra on tabla. The timeless harmony truly brought our campus to life! 🎶 Also a huge gratitude to Mrs. Nisha Kulkarni, S**c Macay, Nagpur.

A morning of music. A lifetime of resonance.

We had the absolute honor of hosting extraordinary Hindustani classical violinist Dr. Sangeetha Shankar, accompanied by the brilliant Abhishek Mishra on tabla, for a deeply moving session with .

Some mornings are remembered not for what was taught, but for what was felt. Beyond the mesmerizing music, Dr. Shankar showed us how seven simple swaras can unfold into infinite emotions, a powerful reminder of rhythm, observation, intuition, and trust.

For our students, it was a lesson that resonated far beyond music, speaking directly to the invisible conversations that make every creative discipline, including architecture, meaningful.

Thank you, Dr. Sangeetha Shankar and Abhishek Mishra, for a morning we will carry with us always.

Some lessons are best experienced beyond four walls.

Our History of Architecture lecture moved into the open courtyard, where discussion, observation, and the surrounding environment became part of the learning experience. At IDEAS, every space has the potential to become a classroom- encouraging students to engage, question, and learn through context.

Because design education isn't confined to a room- it's shaped by the spaces we inhabit.

Architecture is never created in isolation…..it grows from people, place, culture, climate, and the way life unfolds.

In L2 Studio | Projekt Mode, mentored by Ar. Prabhat Tripathi, our students explored how architecture emerges from understanding communities before designing for them.

As Jyestha beautifully shares, people don’t just inhabit spaces……they shape them. And in return, architecture becomes a reflection of their stories, traditions, and everyday lives.

Sometimes, the best design begins not with a drawing, but with listening.
