We recently celebrated Blessing Ceremony '26, a defining milestone for the graduating batch of the Institute of Design Education and Architectural Studies (IDEAS). This event marked more than just the end of an academic chapter; it was a formal induction into the professional world of architecture.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mrs. Nita Rajendra Thakre (Hon. Mayor of Nagpur) and Ar. Jitendra Mehta, whose insights on the evolving responsibilities of modern architects left a lasting impression on our graduates.

An evening of blessings, legacy, and new beginnings ✨

The Blessing Ceremony 2026 at IDEA continues a cherished tradition that began with our very first graduating batch in 2014- a heartfelt ritual where journeys are honoured and futures are blessed.

With students and their proud parents in attendance, each graduate was felicitated with a medal and certificate of appreciation-marking not just academic achievement, but years of growth, resilience, and creativity.

We were deeply honoured to host Mrs. Nita Thakare as our Chief Guest, whose inspiring words added immense grace to the evening. Our Guest of Honour, Ar. Jitendra Mehta, along with Prof. Abhay Purohit (Principal & COA President), Ar. Uday Gadkari (Director & Past COA President), Prof. Milind Gujarkar, Prof. Rahul Deshpande, and Prof. Dr. Ketan Kimmatkar, made the occasion truly memorable with their esteemed presence.

A special highlight of the evening was the release of ‘Sketchers Book’ by Ar. Nikhil Authankar, published by the Council of Architecture-a proud moment for the institution.

Beautifully conducted by Ar. Aishwarya Gawande, the ceremony flowed through heartfelt addresses-from the HOD’s opening remarks to inspiring speeches by the dignitaries-culminating in a warm dinner gathering.

Amidst a campus adorned with elegance and the lingering fragrance of Indian roses, the evening felt nothing short of magical… a perfect farewell wrapped in gratitude, pride, and hope 🌸

Here are some glimpses from a day that will always be remembered.
