IIM Nagpur proudly celebrated the 10th edition of the International Day of Yoga at its MIHAN campus, marking a decade of dedication to this ancient practice. The event, held at the Convention Block, commenced at 7 AM and witnessed enthusiastic participation from the faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff. Led by Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director, and Lt. Col. Makarand Alur (Retd.), CAO, IIM Nagpur celebrated the International Day of Yoga with ample zeal.

The theme for this year, ‘Yoga for Self and Society,’ highlighted Yoga’s transformative power in promoting individual well-being and fostering a healthier, more harmonious society. Emphasizing this exclusive theme, the event underlined Yoga as a holistic practice to cultivate mental clarity, emotional balance, and a deeper connection between the mind and body.

This year’s International Day of Yoga celebration at IIM Nagpur was further enriched by the guidance of Ms. Madhura Shinde, an MBA 2023-25 batch student and a Yoga expert and instructor herself. She led the participants through a series of Asanas and Pranayamas. The Asanas performed included Tadasana, Tiryak Tadasana, Ardha Chakrasana, Padahastasana, Trikonasana, Vajrasana, Ardha Ushtrasana, Vakrasana, and Paschimottanasana. The Pranayamas included Anulom Vilom and Kapalbhati. Her expertise and passion for Yoga inspired all attendees, making the session stimulating, educational, and noteworthy.

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi noted that Yoga is for everyone, transcending ethnicities, faiths, and cultures. His words emphasized that Yoga is a universal practice that fosters physical fitness, mental calmness, and emotional contentment. It is not just an exercise but a way of life as it promotes holistic health and well-being.

Since commemorated in 2015, the International Day of Yoga has transcended cultural boundaries and become a global phenomenon. IIM Nagpur’s decade-long celebration stands as a testament to the enduring significance of Yoga in contemporary society.

IIM Nagpur is delighted to announce the celebration of the 10th edition of International Day of Yoga at its MIHAN campus. The event will be conducted at the Convention Block on June 21, 2024, starting at 7 AM. This significant occasion marks a decade of promoting the ancient practice of yoga, which has transcended cultural boundaries to become a global phenomenon since its inception in 2015.

This year's theme, 'Yoga for Self and Society,' underscores the transformative power of yoga in enhancing individual well-being and fostering a healthier, more harmonious society. Yoga is not merely a physical exercise; it is a holistic practice that cultivates mental clarity, emotional balance, and a deeper connection between the mind and body.

Our celebration is further enriched by the profound words of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who eloquently states: “Yoga is for everyone, for all ethnicities, for all faiths and cultures. Yoga is truly universal. When we do yoga, we feel physically fit, mentally calm and emotionally content. But it is not just about doing exercise on a mat. Yoga is a way of life. IIM Nagpur proudly announces the successful completion of Summer Placement process for the 9th batch of its flagship Master of Business Administration Program (MBA). With a record batch size of 262 students participating in the Summer Placement process, IIM Nagpur successfully concluded this placement season by the middle of March 2024. The placement process was conducted seamlessly through virtual and offline modes.

IIM Nagpur welcomed recruiters spanning diverse sectors, including Consulting, BFSI, FMCG/FMCD, ITES, E-Commerce, Manufacturing, and Logistics. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all recruiters who participated in this year's campus placement season, demonstrating their confidence in the caliber of the talent nurtured at IIM Nagpur. Prominent recruiters who participated in this placement season include industry giants such as Microsoft, Amazon, Adani, Aditya Birla Capital, BNY Mellon, ICICI Bank, Accenture, Havells, L&T, TVS Credit, TVS Motors, Vedanta, Suzuki R&D, Parle Agro, BigBasket and Country Delight.

Despite challenging market conditions, IIM Nagpur achieved a notable increase in stipends. The average stipend rose by 10.74% to ₹87,257, while the median stipend saw an 8.33% increase to ₹65,000.

In honour of the upcoming World Blood Donor Day on June 14, 2024, IIM Nagpur, under the aegis of its Armed Forces Business Management Programme and in coordination and assistance from the Nashikrao Tirpude Blood Center Nagpur, organized a Blood Donation Camp in its MIHAN campus. Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur, inaugurated the camp. The camp witnessed great success, with many donors volunteering and donating blood for the noble cause. The patronage, presence, and motivation of Dr. Metri, added significant value for the volunteers on this occasion, underscoring the importance of his role in this event.

The Blood Donation Camp saw an overwhelming response from the IIM Nagpur community. The enthusiastic participation from students, faculty and academic, administrative and service staffs, all coming together, made it successful. This collective effort underscores the Institute’s commitment to social responsibility and community service, fostering a sense of unity and shared responsibility.

The volunteers of the Camp ensured the smooth operation of the Blood Donation Camp activity and provided necessary guidance and assistance to the donors. It thereby facilitated a seamless and efficient donation process. The spirit of solidarity and altruism and IIM Nagpur’s dedication to contributing positively to societal health needs garnered 75 volunteers, including 02 females. The collected blood will significantly aid local medical facilities, potentially saving numerous lives in the region.
