Honored to have Saurabh Mhatre, Design Scientist & Founder of Studio OSMO, at the “कलापूर: Craft, Culture and City Form of Kolhapur” exhibition, engaging with the creative explorations of our first-year students.
His valuable perspectives highlighted the importance of observing, documenting, and understanding the deep connections between craft, communities, materials, and the evolving urban landscape. The narratives of Sonar, Wadar, Chambhar, Kumbhar, and other communities reflected the sensitivity and curiosity of young designers exploring cultural identities through design.
A meaningful exchange of ideas, inspiration, and learning that encourages our students to look beyond form and discover the stories embedded within places and people.

Student Dharmesh Patel reflects on an enriching journey that began with the Rajasthan Study Tour and evolved into the design of a Primary School in Jodhpur. From understanding the region’s culture, climate, and architecture to translating on-ground insights into thoughtful design solutions, the project showcases a process of exploration, learning, and creative growth.

The jury highlighted how field experiences can shape meaningful architectural responses, transforming observations into spaces that are contextually rooted and socially responsive.

Semester VIII Architectural Design Jury | B.Arch*
Exploring Vertical Urbanism through mixed use development at NAINA through the lens of Culture, Livelihood, Smart Technology, and Environment
Students presented their proposals for a Mixed-Use High-Rise Development within the NAINA region, responding to questions of public life, sustainability, mobility, and future urban growth through a Macro–Meso–Micro design approach.
From conceptual massing to section-led explorations, the studio reflected thoughtful investigations into creating inclusive, connected, and future-ready urban environments.
