Under the guidance of IQAC, the Soft Skills Committee of SK College of Science and Commerce successfully organised a Skill Development Session on “Developing Workplace Skills for the Aviation Industry” on 11th September 2026. The programme was designed to provide students with valuable insights into the aviation industry and equip them with essential workplace skills required for personal and professional growth.
The session commenced at 8:30 a.m. in Room No. 88 and was led by Ms. Sana Shaikh, who provided valuable guidance to the students on developing essential workplace skills and understanding the professional requirements of the aviation industry. The session focused on important aspects such as effective communication, confidence, professionalism, adaptability, and continuous self-improvement.

Under the guidance of IQAC, the Rotaract Club of Tilak Education Society’s S.K. College of Science and commerce successfully organized “Yaadon Ka Safar”, a community service initiative, on 7th September 2026 at Anand Ashram, Nerul, from 12:00 PM onwards.
The initiative was organized with the objective of bridging the gap between generations and creating meaningful memories with senior citizens. The event provided the volunteers with an opportunity to interact with the elderly residents, listen to their experiences, and spend quality time with them. Such interactions also reflected the spirit of Rotaract, which encourages young people to contribute to the community through service.
During the programme, the volunteers engaged with the senior citizens through friendly conversations, recreational activities, games, and memory-sharing sessions. The elderly residents enthusiastically shared stories and experiences from their lives, while the volunteers listened with respect and interest. The interactions created a warm, cheerful, and welcoming atmosphere.

Under the guidance of IQAC, the NSS Unit and DLLE of S.K. College of Science and Commerce (Autonomous), Tilak Education Society, successfully organized a Mangroves Clean-Up Drive on Sunday, 13th September 2026, at Samundraeshwar Shiv Mandir, Karave Jetty, Opp. Jewel of NM – Thinker Statue, Palm Beach Road, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

The initiative aimed to create awareness about the importance of mangrove ecosystems and encourage students to take active responsibility for protecting and conserving our coastal environment. NSS volunteers and DLLE students participated enthusiastically in the clean-up activity, demonstrating their commitment towards environmental conservation and community service.
The drive provided students with a meaningful opportunity to understand the ecological significance of mangroves, which play a crucial role in protecting coastal areas, supporting biodiversity, and maintaining healthy marine ecosystems. Their collective efforts reflected the values of teamwork, discipline, social responsibility, environmental awareness, and active citizenship.

The successful completion of the drive highlighted the power of collective action in creating a cleaner and greener environment. Through this initiative, the NSS Unit and DLLE reaffirmed their commitment to contributing towards sustainable development and inspiring others to become responsible stewards of nature.

Under the guidance of IQAC, the Rotaract Club of Tilak Education Society’s S.K. College of Science and Commerce successfully organized “Rock Rotaract” on 12th September 2026, in association with Rotaract Club of SIES (N), Rotaract Club of New Bombay Seaside, and Rotaract Club of Smart City Navi Mumbai. It aimed to promote fellowship, creativity, talent, teamwork, and active participation.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation and strengthened inter-club connections through an engaging and energetic experience. “Rock Rotaract” was successfully conducted and created a memorable platform for collaboration, camaraderie, and student engagement.

Under the guidance of the IQAC, the Cultural Committee of S.K. College of Science and Commerce (Autonomous) proudly organized a Poster Making Competition on 11th September, 2026.
The competition served as a creative and thought-provoking platform where students expressed their ideas and perspectives through art, colour and powerful messages. With imaginative designs, impactful slogans and striking visuals on diverse themes, participants showcased their artistic flair and social awareness with great enthusiasm.
The atmosphere was filled with creativity, concentration and artistic zeal, reflecting the innovative thinking and expressive potential of our students. The event successfully encouraged students to blend art with awareness and to communicate meaningful ideas through their creations.

Under the guidance of IQAC, the Language and Communication Development Cell, in association with Atenas Fraternity, organized a session on “Language Skills for Aviation Industry” for First-Year students on 11th September 2026. The session was conducted by Ms. Sana Shaikh and commenced at 9:30 a.m. in Room No. 88. The session focused on the importance of effective language and communication skills in the aviation industry. Students were given an opportunity to understand how clear communication, professional language, confidence, and interpersonal skills contribute to successful careers in the aviation sector. The session aimed to enhance students’ awareness of the communication competencies expected in the aviation industry and to encourage them to develop their language skills for future academic and professional opportunities. All enrolled First-Year students participated in the session. The programme served as a valuable platform for students to gain industry-oriented insights and understand the significance of effective communication in building a successful career in aviation.

Under the guidance of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Faculty Development Programme (FDP), Tilak Education Society’s S. K. College of Science & Commerce (Autonomous), Nerul, Navi Mumbai, organized a session on “How to Write Research Paper” on 10th September 2026 at Conference Room.

The session was conducted for all faculty members to develop their understanding of academic research and scholarly writing. Dr. Rachna Desai, the resource person, shared insights into essential components of a research paper, including topic selection, research methodology, literature review, data analysis, academic writing, referencing, and publication.

The interactive session guided faculty members in improving research skills and encouraged them to pursue quality research and publication. Participants engaged in the discussion and benefited from guidance provided by the resource person.
The session was informative and instrumental in fostering a culture of research and excellence among faculty members.
