Janardhan Kurup College of Science and Commerce was established in the year 2009-2010 under the banner of Tilak Education Society with four full times graduation programmes. The courses provided are Bachelor of Commerce ( B.Com), Bachelor of Management Studies(BMS), Bachelor of Information Technology(B.Sc. IT), Bachelor of Computer Science (B.Sc. The college is fully equipment with the latest infr

astructure and provides a library, computer lab, canteen, indoor gymkhana and audio visual room. Curriculum followed is as stipulated by Mumbai University with examination for the first two years is conducted by the college. The college timing is from 8am to 12.45 pm. The academic calendar is divided into two terms. The first time is from June to October and the second term is from November to April.

The Pre-Independence Day celebration was held at J.K College of Science and Commerce on 14th August 2024 at 10.30 a.m. onwards with traditional fervour and gaiety to honour the 78th Independence Day and to ignite the spirit of patriotism among the students. The event was organised by the Cultural Committee, it featured a variety of activities aimed at commemorating the nation's journey to independence. The college premises were decorated to give it a festive look. The program began with the welcome of Dr.Nisha Pillai,Administrator of Tilak Education Society and Principal Dr.Shraddha Bhome.This was followed by the Principal’s speech. In her speech, the Principal invoked the names of the heroes who laid down their lives at the altar of India’s freedom. She spoke at length about the hopes and dreams of those great souls and stressed the need to cultivate the values upheld by the selfless freedom fighters.Students showcased their talents through various cultural performances, wherein Song and Dance competition was held focusing on themes related to independence and national identity.The performances highlighted significant events from the freedom struggle and celebrated the nation’s diversity and unity.
Students from different departments participated enthusiastically, and the winners were awarded with certificates.
Overall the pre-Independence Day celebration was a successful event that engaged students in meaningful activities and fostered a strong sense of patriotism. The various segments of the celebration not only honoured the country’s past but also inspired the college community to reflect on the values of freedom and unity.
Student Council General Secretary Sanskar Dhanawade from TYIT delivered a vote of thanks, wherein he expressed his gratitude towards teaching staff, non-teaching staff and student council members for their support and contributions, which made the celebration a memorable experience for all involved.

Tilak Education Society's J.K College of Science & Commerce, department of Bachelor of Management Studies and BAMMC organized a Panel Discussion on the topic ‘Long-term effects of curriculum on students career readiness’ on 29th July 2024.
The panel discussion on the long-term effects of curriculum on students' careers readiness was organized to explore how educational curriculum influences career paths and success. Asst.Prof.Harshada Salunkhe welcomed the three panelists Mr.Rahul Gupta, Mr.Ritesh Darde and Mr.Anish Lodaya,who are also the alumnis of the college.They shared their experiences with the students they provided insights into the strengths and weaknesses of current curriculum and suggested students improvements for their better career outcomes.

During the Q&A session, the students asked questions about the implementation of practical training, the balance between theoretical and practical knowledge, and the role of internships and co-op programs. The panelists provided detailed responses and practical advice, making the session highly engaging and informative.
The panel discussion concluded with a vote of thanks by Asst.Prof.Swati Pawar.She thanked the panelists for their valuable contributions and the students for their participation. Overall the event received positive feedback from the students.

Swasth: Centre For Virtue & Wellness Committee in collaboration with the NSS department celebrated Yoga day at Tilak Education Society's J.K. College of Science and Commerce on 21st June, 2024. The theme for this International Yoga Day was “Yoga for Self and Society.” which focuses to promote the benefits of yoga in physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Since the inception of International Yoga Day in the year 2015, June 21st is celebrated as the International Day of Yoga all over the world.
The session began at 10.00 with a brief introduction on Yoga Day by Asst. Prof. Neha Mishra and by welcoming the guest of honor Mrs. Divya Upreti and Mrs.Sudha Kumar
The session began by seeking the blessings of the Almighty by chanting the Gayatri Mantra, Warm up exercises were taken and all the students practiced & performed sitting and standing asanas, the importance of these were explained simultaneously.
All Faculties, Staff and students were taught the importance of Yoga in their life & how to maintain the harmony between body and mind. The students discussed the importance of yoga and also exhibited yoga postures and promised to introduce this activity in their daily lives.
Exercises for relieving stress, reducing joint pain and enhancing the flexibility of the back were also taught by the yoga instructor.The yoga session was refreshing, relieving and relaxing for the students. The yoga instructors were awarded a token of appreciation by Principal Dr. Shraddha Bhome and IQAC Incharge Remya Anilkumar. The program was successfully conducted with the combined efforts of Management, Staff & Students.The function ended with a vote of thanks by Asst.Prof. Preeti Yadav

Tilak Education Society’s J. K. College of Science and Commerce, Ghansoli, NSS department organized a poster making competition on 19th June 2024 on the theme of Yoga Day to inculcate the importance of Yoga in one’s life. Event was conducted in the college campus. 20 students from J.K. College of science and commerce, NSS department had taken part in the poster making competition. Students were allowed to use any type of colors, sketch,slogans, shapes to grab the attention of judges. Through this art activity, the NSS department of the college has initiated yoga awareness among students. Students who have taken part were awarded with participation certificates and three rank holders were awarded with winning certificates. The entire event was conducted valuably under the guidance of NSS Programme officer Asst. Prof. Kimi Garg and faculties.
