The CNC Turning and Simulation Training Programme conducted at Government Polytechnic,Nayagarh was a valuable skill-development initiative aimed at enhancing the practical and technical capabilities of students. The programme successfully introduced students to modern CNC manufacturing technology and provided them with useful exposure to CNC programming, turning operations and simulation.

The Certificate Distribution Ceremony marked the successful completion of the training programme and recognized the efforts and participation of the students.The event also served as a motivation for students to continue improving their technical knowledge and practical skills.

Such industry-oriented and skill-based training programmes are highly useful for diploma students as they provide practical exposure beyond the regular classroom curriculum. They help students develop confidence, improve employability and understand the expectations of the manufacturing sector.

Government Polytechnic, Nayagarh observed the Viksit Bharat programme with the objective of creating awareness among students and staff about the vision of a developed India. The programme focused on the role of youth, particularly students of technical institutions, in contributing to the social, economic and technological development of the country.
The programme was organised with the active participation of the Principal, faculty members, staff and students of Government Polytechnic, Nayagarh. Various activities like Speech and Drawing Competitions were conducted to highlight the importance of education, skill development, innovation, technology, entrepreneurship and responsible citizenship.
Students participated enthusiastically in discussions and awareness activities related to the vision of Viksit Bharat. The programme encouraged them to understand their responsibilities towards society and the nation.

A Parents-Teacher Meeting was organized by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Government Polytechnic, Nayagarh, in both online and offline mode with the objective of strengthening communication between parents, teachers, and students. The meeting focused on discussing students’ academic performance, attendance,discipline, practical learning, and overall development.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Department, faculty members, parents, and students . The faculty members briefed the parents about the academic progress and performance of their wards. Particular emphasis was given to regular attendance, participation in laboratory and classroom activities, timely completion of assignments, and preparation for examinations.

The teachers also discussed the importance of developing technical skills, programming knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and professional behaviour among Computer Science students. Parents were encouraged to maintain regular communication with the department and motivate their wards to follow a proper study schedule and make effective use of available learning resources.

Parents actively interacted with the faculty members and shared their suggestions and concerns regarding the academic and personal development of their children. The teachers provided appropriate guidance and assured the parents of continued support for improving students’ performance.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to all the parents, teachers, and students for their active participation and cooperation. The meeting was successful in promoting better coordination between parents and teachers and in creating a supportive environment for the academic and overall development of the students.

Government Polytechnic, Nayagarh celebrated National Sports Day with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and staffs. The programme was organised to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary Indian hockey player, and to highlight the importance of sports and physical fitness in student life.
The celebration began with a floral tribute to Major Dhyan Chand. The Principal, faculty members and students paid their respects by offering flowers and remembering his remarkable contribution to Indian sports. The speakers highlighted his dedication, discipline, sportsmanship and achievements, inspiring students to develop similar qualities.
Following the floral tribute, a Sports Challenge was organised for the students. Various activities and sports-based challenges were conducted to encourage physical fitness, teamwork, discipline and a healthy competitive spirit. Students participated actively and displayed great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The challenges provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their physical abilities while enjoying the spirit of healthy competition.

As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a pledge-taking programme against drug abuse was organized at Government Polytechnic, Nayagarh with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drugs and promoting a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.

The programme was attended by the Principal, faculty members, staff and students of the institution. The participants were sensitized to the physical, psychological, social and economic consequences of drug abuse. The importance of staying away from intoxicating substances and encouraging friends and family members to lead a healthy life was also emphasized.

During the programme, all the participants took a solemn pledge to stay away from drugs and other addictive substances. They also pledged to spread awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse and contribute towards building a healthy, responsible and drug-free society.

The 80th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at Government Polytechnic, Nayagarh, on 15th August 2026. The programme was organised by the college authorities with the active participation of students, faculty members, and staff.

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the I/C Principal. This was followed by the singing of the National Song and the National Anthem. Addressing the gathering, the Principal highlighted the significance of Independence Day, paid tribute to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters, and emphasised the responsibilities of young citizens in building a strong, progressive, and developed nation.

Various cultural programmes were presented by the students, including patriotic songs, speeches, poems, and other performances. The students participated enthusiastically and showcased their talents. The entire campus was filled with a sense of patriotism, pride, and unity.

Prizes were also distributed to the winners of the competitions conducted under the Har Ghar Tiranga programme, recognising their enthusiastic participation and contribution to the celebration.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. Sweets were distributed among the students and staff. The Independence Day celebration was a memorable and inspiring occasion for everyone present, reinforcing the spirit of patriotism and national responsibility. 🇮🇳

Government Polytechnic, Nayagarh observed World Youth Skills Day 2026 on 15 July 2026 with the objective of promoting the importance of technical and vocational skills among students. The programme witnessed the active participation of students, faculty members, and staffs.

The event commenced with a welcome address by the Principal, who emphasized the significance of skill development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning in enhancing employability and supporting sustainable development. Faculty members also addressed the gathering, encouraging students to continuously upgrade their technical, digital, and professional competencies to meet the evolving demands of industry.

To mark the occasion, an expert talk and student awareness programme were organized, highlighting the role of skill-based education in building a competent and future-ready workforce. Students participated with enthusiasm and benefited from the informative sessions.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers for their valuable contribution to the successful observance of World Youth Skills Day 2026.

*Industry-Oriented CNC Training & Internship at Government Polytechnic, Nayagarh* 🔧

We are pleased to announce that *30 students of 5th Semester Mechanical Engineering, Government Polytechnic, Nayagarh* are undergoing a *one-month CNC Training & Internship Programme* from *1st June to 30th June 2026*.

The training is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industrial practice, focusing on modern CNC manufacturing technologies. Students are receiving hands-on exposure to:

✅ Fundamentals of CNC Technology and Programming
✅ CNC Coordinate Systems, G-Codes & M-Codes
✅ CNC Simulation for Turning and Milling Operations
✅ Programming and Operation of *SIEMENS CNC Systems*
✅ Practical Training on *CNC Turning Machine*
✅ Simulation-Based Milling Programming and Verification
✅ Machine Safety, Offsets, Tool Management & Production Practices

During the internship, students will develop CNC programs, perform machining simulations, and gain practical experience in CNC turning operations, enhancing their industry readiness and employability skills.
