The college was opened in 2008 for its first batch of MBBS students. However, in just three years, it has reached among the top ten medical institutions of the nation. It has achieved a very reputable status among people belonging to the Army background as well as civilians. The batches are known as follows:
2008 - Alpha batch
2009 - Bravo batch
2010 - Charlie batch
However, due to the obligation of intake of kids of only army personals, a section of civil society has put up a case on the college for creating a biased intake. The case is yet pending, causing no admission in the 2011 batch. Entrance Exam

The exam is held by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University every year for medical aspirants in two stages. The preliminary exam is a qualifying round required to get at least 50% of maximum marks. For ACMS, the percentage has been somewhat decreased. The main exam is held and a merit list is generated. The top 100 Army personal wards are then invited to join the college. Both the exams are Objective type. Eligibility

The ward should be a child, wife or other dependent of a living or dead or a martyr army personal (both male and females). He or she should have cleared the higher senior secondary examination from a recognized board or university (or equivalent) in the first attempt with PCB and English as compulsory subjects.
