Bengali Literary Society-as the name suggests is an attempt to bring out the culture of Bengal in its truest sense. In a college which has students from every nook and corner of the country representing their own vivid cultures, the Bengali Literary Society at St. The Bengali Literary Society has always stood tall among all, not because it represents one of the most culturally rich regions of Indi
a but also because it breaks through all linguistic barriers and unites people who love and take pride in the language and culture of Bengal. It is one of the oldest societies, established in 1920, it was re-founded and made active again by Adhiraj Ghosh some seven years back. Among the main highlights of the society are the Adhiraj Ghosh Memorial Debate - named after one of the founders of the society, our annual Journal – Darpan, dealing with issues pertaining to the Bengali populace and diaspora in general, which saw articles from the students as well as places like Goats of Bangladesh last year and the much loved Annual Bengali Lunch, which is not just another lunch, it's a feast, even for the eyes. You can not only experience authentic and mouth-watering Bengali cuisine but also witness the tradition of Bengal. Apart from this, we have our regular Adda sessions (chit-chat sessions), Musical evenings, movie screenings and the celebration of Poila Baisakh - better known as the Bengali New Year, thus bringing about a warmth among the society and its members. We at the Bengali Literary Society take pride to refer it as not just a society, but an experience - a beautiful one, and welcome all with open arms to come and enjoy this experience!!
