A ban on Swift was imposed on Russia recently. Russian companies will lose access to the normal, smooth and instant transactions provided by Swift, hence disrupting its payments for its valuable energy and agricultural exports.

The move demonstrates the seriousness of the effort to punish Putin's regime, but the effects may be limited.
India and Russia are also exploring the possibility of using China’s yuan as a reference currency to value the rupee-ruble trade mechanism.

On May 13, India banned its wheat exports : the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) issued a notification banning exports of wheat with immediate effect to control price rise.

The decision to ban exports is a result of the smaller-than-expected FY 2022/2023 wheat harvest, rising food inflation, and low government wheat procurement under its Minimum Support Price program.

Normandy Invasion, also called Operation Overlord or D-Day, during World War II, the Allied invasion of western Europe, which was launched on June 6, 1944 , with the simultaneous landing of the U.S., British, and Canadian forces on five separate beachheads in Normandy, France. By the end of August 1944 all of northern France was liberated, and the invading forces reorganized for the drive into Germany, where they would eventually meet with Soviet forces advancing from the east to bring an end to the N**i Reich.
