The department has highly qualified and seasoned members on its faculty who have been unrelentingly fostering the spirit of multi disciplinary analysis and practical appreciation of problems. It also boasts of its vibrant Commerce society with elected office bearers from elected from among the students. The society puts together seminars, panel discussions and other cultural activities round the year. Such Program pave the way for infusing the articulatory and leadership skills which are a pre requisite for sustenance in the Corporate world. Presently the Department at Hindu College is one of the very few in the University that offers the option in Information Technology (Practical as well as Theory) in all the papers where option exists. The Commerce Department has a specialized computer lab and a central computer lab with one computer for every student. The college also offers admission to Masters in Commerce.
