ALERT FELLAS!!!! DU TO START ADMISSIONS IN MID-APRIL
Delhi University (DU) admissions are all set to begin in April for the academic year 2017. Doing away with the confusion surrounding the mode of admissions to undergraduate courses, DU’s admission committee has announced that the mode will remain on the basis of merit, i.e. cutoff lists.
“The online registrations for all UG courses will begin in mid-April, so that students have ample time to keep their necessary certificates ready. Some require OBC or SC certificates- we want to ensure that they don’t have to face any last-minute rush, and 95% of the admission process is complete by the time the qualifying exam results are out. The students will get 1-2 month time”, says Professor MK Pandit, chairman of the admission committee.
According to sources, there will be no change in the undergraduate courses for which entrance exams were held last year. Post-Graduate, MPhil and PhD courses will hold an entrance exam too.
DU’s Executive Council and academic council has clarified that any proposal for entrance exam for all courses had not even been presented to them, as rumours suggested earlier.
Last year, the registrations had started on June 1 and went on till June 22. Almost 2,50,220 applications had been received for admissions, out of which 1,15,786 were for English Honours alone.
