Day 1 – 17th January 2026
The session commenced with Ganesh Vandana and Ganesh Panchratnam by the faculty members of Kamakshi Chapter:
Shri Navneet Kaushik, Hon Working President welcomed the gathering and stressed the importance of being in alignment with the reference books and syllabus of ICAS. He conveyed the message of Prof. A B Shuklaji focusing on continuous learning and research by faculty members and congratulated the CoE-ICAS for organising the FDP.
First Session:
Shri S. Tyagarajan, Hon National Vice President provided a comprehensive walkthrough of the fundamentals of Jaimini, covering: Karakas (7/8 Karakas), Karakamsha, Argalas, assessment of planetary strengths with many illustrations.
Second Session (Post-Lunch):
Shri Prasad Ede of Secunderabad Chapter …shared his knowledge on topics like special lagnas and the potential challenges one faces while using them, Jaimini yogas, Upapada, Swamsha and using concepts like Brahma, Maheshvara etc. through many example charts.

Day 2 – 18th January 2026
First Session:
Shri Prasad Ede focused on 3 Jaimini Dasha Systems: Chara, Sthira and Trikona.
Second Session:
Was conducted by Shri Navneet Kaushik, Hon. Working President & CoE, ICAS. He introduced participants to the Jaimini Sutra commentary by Prof. A. B. Shukla, Hon. President, ICAS. Through the narrative of Maharshi Ved Vyas and Jaimini, he explained how the sutras are coded and highlighted the importance of Guru-guided learning in understanding Jaimini.
He drew the attention of faculty members to the significance of KATAPAYAdi system and stressed the importance of teaching them to the students, so that they can appreciate the nuances of Jaimini’s teachings properly. Most interestingly he shared the explanation given by Prof Shuklaji with respect to the need for following the rules of exception while calculating the Padas of different bhavas. Key Arudha pada principles and the noteworthy role of upapada lagna was also covered by him.
Third Session:
Dr. Soumya Kumar, Working CoE & Hon. National Vice President, ICAS shared the teachings of Prof. Shuklaji on the role of Atma Karaka as primary significator of prarabdha and the continuity seen in the different chapters of Jaimini Sutras.
He addressed the common challenges one faces while delineating a chart according to Jaimini paddhati like, what is the equivalent of lagna in Jaimini: is it Atma Karaka, Karakamsha, Arduha, special lagnas. He noted that Jaimini himself has provided ample clues as to what we should choose as primary reference point in different contexts. The session ended by illustrating how Jamini disperses his teachings across different sections or even chapters. He illustrated this through by taking a sutra on medical issue which makes sense only when Jaimini’s earlier teachings are considered.
Valedictory Interaction:
Post-lunch, participants were blessed by the presence of Gurudev Prof. A. B. Shukla Ji, Hon. President, ICAS. He appreciated the efforts taken by resource persons and the CoE-ICAS and advised that the frequency of FDPs should increase in the future.
A Question & Answer session was held, during which faculty doubts were clarified and valuable feedback was shared.
