Working Manager's Programme

As part of the mission of NOIDA campus, in July 2005 IIM Lucknow launched the Three Year (Part Time) Post-Graduate Programme in Management for Working Executives, also popularly known a

s Working Managers’ Programme (WMP). The WMP is a uniquely designed programme for working executives, entrepreneurs and professionals, who desire to enhance their managerial knowledge and skills through formal management education, while continuing to work full time in their ongoing professions / businesses. The programme is structured to meet the learning needs and methodologies of those who continue to work, and engage in formal education simultaneously. The programme is designed to maintain the high standards and rigour expected from all post graduate programmes in management at IIM Lucknow. It aims at developing strong conceptual fundamentals and skills required to mange businesses of the future. The WMP aims to help to inculcate leadership and teamwork amongst participants, and foster the development of change agents to take leadership roles in the global area. The 27 months programme has over thirty credits worth of courses which must be successfully completed. The specific objectives of the programme are to enable the executives to:

-> Comprehend the meaning of socio-economic, technological and ecological environment of modern societies and their characteristic values;

-> Acquire the prevailing state-of-art knowledge and skills in the functional areas of management;

-> Develop analytical and innovative foresight to gauge change holistically, and to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of business systems;

-> Value societal well being and the responsibility of corporate citizens. Diploma:
Students would be awarded the "Post Graduate Diploma in Management for Working Executives" on successful completion of the Programme. International Programme in Management for Executives

Executive MBA (IPMX), the seventh, full time, one-year residential executive programme would be launched in April 2014 at the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow-NOIDA Campus. The International Programme in Management for Executives is designed for mid/senior level professionals, to prepare them for leadership roles. The programme is designed to develop business education that is grounded in the Indian and international business environment. It will accelerate understanding of business at functional and strategic levels, and prepare students to manage enterprises engaged in global business. The curriculum would focus on a strategic understanding of business, rooted in practical skill development through action learning projects and industry interface. A core component of the programme is an international module at one of our partner institutes located in Europe/East Asia which will provide students the opportunity for an International learning experience to equip them with the knowledge and perspective relevant to current global business issues. The programme would be rigorous as well as rewarding as it would provide ample opportunity for personal development and professional growth through inquiry and insight in an interactive learning environment. NOIDA being the hub of commercial and industrial activity, the locational advantage of the NOIDA Campus would also extend to the learning process where industry related assignments and real management contexts form an integral part of the course curriculum. The delivery is oriented towards best practices, an integrated strategic perspective, project work and constant engagement with industry. The Corporate Interaction Centre of the Institute would facilitate in providing placement services for non-sponsored students. The overall goal of the programme is to broaden the core managerial competencies to further enhance the professional growth of students. The specific objectives of the programme are to:
-> Provide students with the fundamental principles of effective management of modern business organizations

-> Develop understanding of the roles and responsibilities of business managers in increasingly global nature of social and economic orders and corporate operations

-> Sharpen diagnostic and analytical skills for effective decision making in complex business perspectives.

-> Sensitise students to the issues of cultural diversity and develop skills for effective management within multi-cultural work environments.

-> Strengthen strategic leadership and team working skills.

Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, one of the premier management institutes in India on Monday formally commenced work on their Noida campus facility. It is the first IIM to open a second campus.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Devi Singh, director - IIM Lucknow said, "The Noida campus of IIM Lucknow is a totally different value addition experience for the executive participants. It comes from the IIML lineage, which has established itself as a mark of quality and this institution is being established primarily for the practitioners. The academic structure has been designed through many consultative rounds within the academia and the industry and we are proud to extend the excellence of IIM Lucknow to NCR region."

Hari Shankar Singhania, chairman-board of governors, IIM Lucknow said, "IIM Lucknow is ensuring that its students are given a high-level exposure to the contemporary business processes and modern business tools. The idea behind starting executive management programme at Noida campus is to blend the candidate's rich work experience with the conceptual ideas and strategic inputs for achieving excellent business results".

The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow inaugurated the first programme, the Working Manager's Program, on their Noida campus in July 2005. This program is as intense as the PGP Course at IIM Lucknow.

The Noida campus of IIM Lucknow is coming up on 20-acres of beautifully landscaped land in Sector 62. The campus will have a well-equipped library, a modern computer centre, an automated programme office, class room block, furnished hostels with single-seated bachelor accommodation, a large students' mess furnished with modern kitchen equipments, a medical centre and a guest house.

The new campus comes equipped with open air courts for outdoor games like tennis, volley ball, basketball, and also a sports complex for indoor games. Residential buildings and community centre for faculty and staff are being developed. The library block, computer centre and all lecture halls will be air-conditioned. The campus will also house banks, ATMs, a post office, telecom centre, a restaurant, and a general merchandise shop.
