A REPORT ON ANTI-RAGGING DAY/WEEK CELEBRATIONS-2026
As per the advice from UGC, New Delhi, the Anti-Ragging Day/Week was observed from 12th to 18th August 2026 at JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty and this will be observed every year in the future as it is advised by UGC.
Anti-Ragging Day/Week is observed to create an awareness among the students about the hazards of ragging, the social risk associated and legal consequences of the act of ragging among the senior and junior students and curb ragging in the campus and make a ragging free campus.
During this week several activities and competitions were conducted on the theme "Say No to Ragging". Events and competitions such as Anti-Ragging Oath, Essay Writing, Slogan Writing, Logo Designing, pencil sketching, Poster Making and photography were conducted on 12.08.2026 for the students across all programs.
The senior students (III Year B. Pharm & Pharm. D) have organized these programs and there was an overwhelming response from all the students.
The Certificate of Merit, Prizes and Certificate of Participation were distributed to the winners and all the participants on 20.08.2026. Mr. V. Vasanthakumar, The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ooty Town, The Nilgiris, was invited as a chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony held at the Seminar Hall, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty. Dr S P Dhanabal, Principal, Dr. Gomathy S, Member Secretary & Dr. Sangamithra R, Member, Anti-Ragging Committee, were present along with the guests in the ceremony.
Our sincere thanks to the student volunteers for their untiring support conducting the competitions in a very professional manner and to thank the anti-ragging committee & squad members for their support.
