1 Q Minimum qualification required for applying polytechnic admission?
A SSLC or equivalent with Mathematics, Science & English for Stream I/ Mathematics & English for Stream - II

2 Q How to submit general application?
A Submit the applications online at the website link ONLINE SUBMISSION. Register the application (printout) with self attested copies of relevant certificates at any Government/Aided Polytechnic Colleges in the state remitting the required fee.

3 Q How to apply for Sports Quota?
A Submit the application online at the website link SPORTS QUOTA. Take the printout and register the application with attested copies of relevant certificates in the nearest Govt./Govt Aided Polytechnic by remitting application fee is Rs. 150/-. Copy of the application with attested copies of relevant certificates should be submitted to the Secretary, Kerala Sports Council, Thiruvananthapuram (See clause 5.5.9)

4 Q How to apply for NCC Quota?
A Submit the applications online at the website link NCC QUOTA.Take the printout and register the application with attested copies of relevant certificates in the nearest Govt./Govt Aided Polytechnic by remitting the application fee Rs. 150/-. Copies of the application with attested copy of relevant certificates should be submitted to the NCC Directorate through the respective Unit Officer (See clause 5.5.10).

5 Q How to apply for Management Quota in Aided Diploma Programmes?
A Submit the applications online at the website link MANAGEMENT SEATS. Register the application (printout) with self attested copy of relevant certificates in the respective Aided Polytechnic Colleges remitting the required fee.

6 Q How to apply for Management Quota in Self Financed Diploma Programmes?
A Candidates seeking admission to the management seats in Self Financing Programmes should submit separate applications to the respective Institutions in the format insisted by the institutions.

7 Q Tuition fee in Self Financed Polytechnic Colleges?
A Tuition Fee for the Government seats in Self financed programmes is Rs. 22,500/- per year.

8 Q What is Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme?
A In addition to the sanctioned intake in Polytechnic Colleges, 5% of seats in each programme in every Polytechnic College are provided under the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme for Women / Economically backward and Physically Challenged meritorious students. The 5% seats provided additional to the sanctioned intake in each programme shall be filled in the ratio 1:1:1 for Women / Economically Backward and Physically Challenged students based on merit

9 Q How to apply for Government seats (with higher fees) in Self financing programmes ?
A Submit the applications online at the website link ONLINE SUBMISSION. Register the application (printout) with self attested copies of relevant certificates at any Government/Aided Polytechnic Colleges in the state remitting the required fee. Tuition fee for Government seats (with higher fees) in Self financing programmes is Rs. 22,500/ per year.

10 Q Is there any special batches for Hearing Impaired Candidates?
A There will be special batches for Hearing Impaired candidates in Womens Polytechnic Colleges , Thiruvananthapuram, Govt. Polytechnic College, Kalamassery and Kerala Govt. Polytechnic College, Kozhikode (See clause 5.6).

11 Q Will separate memo be sent to the candidates selected?
A Separate memo will not be sent to the candidates selected. Allotment letter will be available at the website.

12 Q How many allotments will be there for admission to Polytechnic Diploma Programmes?
A There will be four allotments. Details about further allotments/counselling will be informed later

Rules Regarding Admission
S.S.L.C. or equivalent examination with the following marks for the categories indicated below.
1. Merit:- Not less than 50% for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together, and not less than 40% separately for mathematics and 40% for Physics and Chemistry put together.
2. Socially and Educationally Backward Communities (Only if the annual family income is less than Rs. 2,50,000): -

Application form
Application form and prospectus can be had from the principal at a cost of Rs. 100 per copy if received in person and Rs 135 per copy if it is to be sent by post. For SC/ST candidates it will be Rs. 50 and Rs. 85 respectively. M.O. or Cheque will not be accepted. The forms etc. will be sent by registered post if not taken in person. Indian postal order for Rs.135 or Rs. 85 as the case may be for each form in favour of Principal will be accepted. 15% of the total seat for each course is reserved for management selection. The eligibility for management seat is same as above.

Tuition fee : 1200/-(Payable in two installments)
Special fee (Revenue portion) : 360/- (Per Year)
Special fee (PD portion) : 350/- (Per Year)
Students amenities fee : 300/- (Per Year)
Caution Deposit : 250/- (Payable at the time of admission)
PTA + Development fund : 1750/-

FEE CONCESSIONS KPCR: -
Candidates, who wish to avail themselves of the benefits of full concession under KPCR Scheme, should submit their application in the prescribed form at the time of admission. Students are eligible for the concession provided the annual family income is under the limit of Rs. 42,000.00
