On the occasion of World Oral Health Day (WOHD), celebrated every year on March 20, the Department of Periodontics (Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences, Paonta Sahib) participated in a week long celebration that was initiated by the Indian Society of Periodontology and Implantology (ISPI). The theme for the occasion was “A Healthy Mouth is a Happy Life”.

Free dental check - up camps were held for patient education about the importance of good oral health. All patients screened were provided with free samples of toothbrushes and toothpastes (sensodyne/parodontax).

In the college, various creative competitions like no fire cooking, rangoli competition, doodle art, e-poster presentation and reel making were held that aimed to spread meaningful messages about maintaining a healthy smile. All students - undergraduates and post graduates participated with utmost enthusiasm.

Also, an interactive lecture session, titled “Gum Care”, was conducted to brief students about how they can help and motivate their patients about proper oral hygiene.

Overall, the celebration successfully brought together learning, creativity, and community service, inspiring everyone to value their oral health for a happier life.

We are pleased to announce the successful conduction of an exclusive Invisalign program at the Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences, marking a historic milestone as the first-ever initiative of its kind in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

The program was conducted by the Department of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics organized in collaboration with the Invisalign team.The highlight of the event was an inspiring keynote session delivered by Dr. Karan Bhalla, a distinguished Black Diamond Invisalign Provider with over 18 years of extensive clinical experience offering participants an in-depth understanding of cutting-edge clear aligner therapy.

Such pioneering initiatives reaffirm our commitment to academic excellence and innovation, paving the way for many more groundbreaking endeavors in the future.

🦷 Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics Day Celebrated 5th March

The Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics at Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences, Paonta Sahib celebrated National Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics Day by organizing a CDE program on the topic “Treat & Re-Treat to Retain It.”

The session was delivered by Dr. Avinash Patil, followed by demonstration and hands-on training for students and faculty, making the event highly informative and interactive.
