IIM Sirmaur Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur The ‘Vision’ of IIM Sirmaur is “To be globally respected institution for management excellence”.

As a premier institution and under the aegis of Ministry of Education, Gol, the institute aims to provide Management Education of high quality and promote allied areas of knowledge and inter-disciplinary studies. The ‘Mission’ of IIM Sirmaur is “To develop and foster professionals with competencies in creating and leading future-oriented solutions for sustainable growth adhering to the highest standards of ethical and human aspects of work in Himachal Pradesh, India, and the world”. The Institute strives for the seamless integration of management education with local and global aspirations in an enabling environment. It supports that management education is not just about seeking the most competitive employment opportunities, but also about learning to serve socio-economic concerns through ethical and visionary corporate leadership. It strives to focus on indigenous areas and innovative practices, to develop sensitive corporate leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow. The Institute offers two full-time postgraduate programmes of two years’ duration MBA and MBA (Tourism& Hospitality Management) and the doctoral programme (Ph.D.). Celebrating excellence and achievement, IIM Sirmaur proudly applauds our batch of MBA students Janvi Patni, Parish*ta Agrawal, and Shiva Chaturvedi who secured the 1st Runner-Up position at Influence 2026, a national-level case competition organised by IIM Bangalore.

The competition saw participation from 600+ teams across India, with teams from several premier B-schools competing for the top position. The team, under the name Team Timeless, demonstrated their caliber by emerging as the 1st Runner-Up, showcasing their analytical acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to present impactful solutions. Their achievement further highlights their dedication and excellence in the field of case competitions.

As part of the ‘Alumni Talk Series’ organized by the Alumni Relations Committee (ARC), Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur had the privilege of hosting alumna Ms. Chhavi Bansal, Digital Marketing Strategist at Google, for an insightful guest lecture.

​Ms. Chhavi Bansal shared her inspiring professional journey, detailing how she navigated a career transition into marketing despite coming from a different background. She took students through the early stages of her career, from securing a first job to preparing for a role at Google, and offered insights into the responsibilities involved in leading and managing multi-dollar digital marketing strategies today. Additionally, she personally guided students aspiring to build careers in marketing, offering practical advice on navigating the evolving industry landscape.

At IIM Sirmaur, we are delighted to celebrate the academic contribution of Dr. Sanjay Pareek, Associate Professor in Finance & Accounting, as co-author of the 10th Edition of the established textbook Managerial Accounting, alongside Jerry J. Weygandt, Paul D. Kimmel and Jill E. Mitchell.

The 10th Edition marks a significant milestone for a widely recognised academic resource covering key areas of management accounting and helping students understand the use of accounting information for managerial decision-making, planning and performance evaluation. At IIM Sirmaur, we are delighted to celebrate the achievement of our batch of MBA students Gautam Sonker, Nandkishore Parade, and Priyanshu Raj who secured the 1st Rank at the Agilisium Business Case Challenge 2026, organised by Agilisium.

The competition saw participation from 1,000+ teams across India, with teams from several premier B-schools competing for the top position. The team demonstrated their caliber by identifying the root cause of the business problem, developing a practical strategy, and successfully presenting actionable recommendations. Their efforts were further recognized with a PPI (Pre-Placement Interview) opportunity as part of the competition, adding another feather to their cap.

We are proud to share that Upanshu Agarwal, Shantanu Roy, and Anukalp Srivastava from IIM Sirmaur have secured 1st Position at PRODZION 2026, organized by XLRI!

The competition challenged participants to solve a real-world marketplace problem by developing a data-driven product strategy, optimising resource allocation, and defending their strategic roadmap before an expert jury.

Their strategic thinking, product acumen, and dedication earned them the top spot in the competition. We wish them continued success in their future endeavors!

IIM Sirmaur commemorated India’s 80th Independence Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony in the presence of Hon’ble Director, Prof. Prafulla Agnihotri. The occasion was a moment to look back at the long journey from the struggle for freedom to the India we see today, while remembering the courage and sacrifices of the freedom fighters who shaped our history.

The celebrations brought this journey to life through soulful singing, vibrant dance performances, and evocative poetry. Each performance reflected a different facet of India- its history, diversity, resilience, and the freedom that generations have worked to preserve.

As India marks 80 years of independence, the occasion is not only about remembering where we came from, but also reflecting on the India we are building today. At IIM Sirmaur, the celebration was a reminder that the legacy of freedom finds meaning in how we contribute to the nation’s present and future.
