On August 14, 2026, a Legal Awareness Programme was held at the Pasighat Campus of RRU, focusing on equipping youth with essential legal knowledge. Led by esteemed experts Shri Bido Sora, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) for East Siang, and Shri Babu Lingu, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel, students engaged in insightful discussions about their rights and the significance of legal aid. This program empowered youth to become advocates for justice within their communities, fostering a culture of legal literacy. Together, we are nurturing an informed generation dedicated to building a stronger, more equitable India.

Transforming Higher Education | Roundtable of Vice-Chancellors of North-East India 2026

The Roundtable of Vice-Chancellors of North-East India 2026, hosted by RRU Pasighat Campus in collaboration with EDLD and AIU, New Delhi, successfully concluded on 11 August 2026.

Held under the theme โ€œTransforming Higher Education: Innovations, Collaborations and Strategies for a Future-Ready India,โ€ the two-day Roundtable brought together Vice-Chancellors from across the North-East for focused deliberations on emerging priorities in higher education.

The sessions featured distinguished experts including Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak, Shri Srijan Pal Singh, Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal, Dr. Niraj Saxena, Prof. Manabendra Dutta Choudhury, Dr. Amarendra Pani, Shri Narottam Sahoo, and Prof. (Dr.) Arun Mohan Sherry, who shared valuable insights on Digital Transformation & AI, AI-Ready Universities, Globalization & Internationalization, Governance in the Age of AI, Indian Knowledge Systems, Higher Education Regulatory Architecture, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Financial & Institutional Sustainability.

The Roundtable provided a meaningful platform for academic dialogue, knowledge exchange and collaborative vision-building, encouraging universities across the North-East to explore new pathways for innovation, research, institutional development and sustainable growth.

Honโ€™ble Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu Visits RRU Pasighat Campus

Following the inauguration of the Roundtable of Vice-Chancellors of North-East India 2026, Honโ€™ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Shri Pema Khandu visited the Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Pasighat Campus, and took a tour of the campus.

During the visit, the Honโ€™ble Chief Minister visited the Human Performance Lab, where he was briefed on the Universityโ€™s facilities, initiatives and efforts towards advancing human performance, fitness, research and capacity building.

The Honโ€™ble Chief Minister also interacted with the University authorities and senior officials, discussing RRUโ€™s academic initiatives, institutional development and its growing role in strengthening higher education, research, innovation and youth development in the North-East.

The visit reaffirmed the importance of strengthening collaboration between the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and RRU towards building a future-ready, research-driven and innovative higher education ecosystem in the region.
