Oftentimes, Government Educational Institutions are criticised for being too careless about the one thing that they're for, Education. The system is deemed rotten. The Professors are labelled as 'Slackers'. To some extent, it's all true. Everything that you've heard about Government Institutions, State ones, precisely, is almost true. The employees, despite their designation try to avoid their work as much as possible.
But every coin has two sides. It is the rule of nature that good and bad exists simultaneously. This means that there are people who take their jobs very seriously. Some people love their work so much that they don't mind putting some extra hours in it. Teachers/Professors who worked hard for their jobs or went out of their way to reach where they are today, still worship their work. To them, it's their whole life.
We've learnt this since forever that teachers play an important role in shaping the personality (and life) of a student. It is their job to teach. Sure, the means can be different. No one should resort to violence. But what if the crowd is stubborn? What if the very pupils who they have to teach, deserve punishment? If the professors of a Govt Institute want to do their job in a professional manner, what is so wrong with that?
All these unofficial pages run by students are acting as if he harrassed her and she committed su***de. She was a patient. A patient whose parents could've very easily taken her back for treatment by giving a medical or something equivalent in the very beginning. A patient who passed away in the care of her parents. It is a terrible thing. Parents shouldn't have to witness the death of their kids. But does that justify the attacks on the professor for not being lenient? He is a Professor, for god's sake. The students, who don't stand anywhere near him (yet) attacked him, harrassed him, abused him, slapped him, and what not. If y'all are so outraged by the fact that he didn't allow her for a holiday, how could y'all be so insensitive to treat a man his age so terribly?
It doesn't end here. The sheer irony is that most of these guys, who are being so generous by raising their voices (and hands) against the so called 'harrassment against a girl' are the same ones who loaf around in the University, stalking girls and passing on lewd comments on them. They're also the very same people who were against the 24×7 Girls' Hostel Entry. Also the very same who were against this man for standing with the freedom of girls.
