Divinity Club Organizes Annual “Warmth Campaign” at Khalsa College, Patiala
Patiala, December 22, 2025:The Divinity Club of the School of Commerce and Management, Khalsa College, Patiala, successfully organized its annual social outreach initiative, “The Warmth Campaign,” on December 22, 2025. The event was aimed at spreading compassion and providing relief to the underprivileged during the winter season.
As part of the campaign, the club collected charity contributions from students and college staff. With the funds raised, warm clothes were purchased and distributed to poor people, elderly individuals, and children in need, bringing comfort and warmth to many lives. Principal Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, appreciated the sincere efforts of the Divinity Club and commended the students for demonstrating empathy and social responsibility. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in building a caring and inclusive society.
Deputy Principal, Dr. Jasleen Kaur, also addressed the gathering and emphasized that organizing such events plays a crucial role in inculcating moral values among students. She noted that participation in social service activities significantly contributes to students’ character development and overall personality growth.
The Warmth Campaign once again reflected the commitment of Khalsa College, Patiala, to nurturing socially responsible citizens and promoting humanitarian values among its students.

School of Commerce and Management, GSSDGS Khalsa College Patiala, organized a three-day educational visit to Udaipur with a total of 30 students. The trip began with a visit to Nathdwara , where students sought the blessings of Bhagwan Shrinath Ji. They then explored Haldighati, learning about the bravery and glorious history of Maharana Pratap, followed by a visit to the Statue of Belief, a grand 369-feet-tall idol of Lord Shiva known for its architectural magnificence and spiritual aura.
The next day, the group reached Udaipur, beginning with the majestic City Palace, and later enjoying the scenic views at Bahubali Hills. On the final day, students spent quality time at the serene Fateh Sagar Lake, visited Moti Magri, and explored the historic Saheliyon Ki Bari. The tour concluded with a delicious and diverse lunch at Natraj Hotel.
The trip was smoothly coordinated under the guidance of Trip Coordinator Dr. Manju Mittal and Trip In-charge Prof. Satveer Kaur.
Overall, it was an enriching educational tour filled with learning, cultural exposure, and memorable experiences for the students.

Workshop on Cyber Hygiene and Cyber Crime Awareness
Under the leadership of Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal, the Commerce Lab, School of Commerce and Management, in collaboration with the AI Centre of Excellence and the IT Cell, organized a Workshop on Cyber Hygiene and Cyber Crime Awareness. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of safe digital practices and the increasing threat of cybercrime.
Prof. Gurpal Singh, Assistant Professor, Postgraduate Department of Computer Science and Convenor, IT Cell, was the keynote speaker. He delivered an impactful session on cyber hygiene, highlighting secure password practices, identification of phishing attempts, responsible online behaviour, privacy protection tools, and the process of reporting cyber incidents. His practical insights helped students relate to real-life digital threats and understand preventive measures.
The workshop was graced by Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Deputy Principal and Head, School of Commerce and Management who appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to stay aware and responsible while navigating the digital world. Dr. Rajwinder Kaur, Dean Students Welfare (Girls) and Convenor of Commerce Lab, Prof. Inderbir Kaur, Registrar and Convenor of AI Centre of Excellence, Dr. Sapna & Dr. Jasmeen Kaur, Members of Commerce Club and faculty members added immense value to the programme.
Students participated with enthusiasm, actively engaging with the resource person and clarifying their doubts related to digital safety. The workshop proved highly informative and strengthened students’ awareness of safe and responsible digital conduct.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, organizers, and participants. The workshop successfully emphasized the importance of cyber hygiene and staying vigilant in a rapidly evolving digital world.

The School of Commerce and Management, Khalsa College Patiala organized , a mock meeting activity under the guidance of Dr. Jasleen Kaur HOD School of Commerce and Management to simulate a real world project update session.
The primary objective was to allow students to practice meeting procedures, enhance communication and build confidence.
The activity also hones the public speaking skills of students. It effectively bridged the gap between theory snd practical experience.
Overall the exercise was very communicative and engaging and students participated with great zeal.

*Guest Lecture on “Résumé making and acing interviews” organized by School of Commerce and Management.* An enriching guest lecture on the topic “Résumé making and acing interviews” was organized on 6th November, 2025 by School of Commerce and Management, Khalsa College Patiala for the students of MBA (Leadership and Development). The lecture was delivered by esteemed speaker Dr. Jaspreet Kaur, Associate professor, Dean Languages and head PG Dept. of English and foreign languages. This lecture was not just a step towards bridging the gap between academia and industry but also to offer invaluable insights and guidance from an industry perspective to our students as they prepare to embark on their professional journeys. Key highlights of the lecture included Emphasizing clarity, conciseness, and the importance of customizing resumes for specific job descriptions; Detailing effective communication skills, body language, appropriate dress code, and strategies for responding to common and challenging interview questions; and Guidance on using action verbs and quantifiable results to highlight key skills and accomplishments, rather than just listing job duties.
The lecture ended with an engaging interactive segment where students asked questions and received personalized feedback. Students left the session feeling well-prepared and confident about facing future interviews, having gained a better understanding of what employers look for in potential candidates. The School of Commerce and Management, Khalsa College Patiala, organized an enlightening guest lecture under the Value Added Course on Entrepreneurial Marketing on the topic “Verbal & Non-Verbal Communication Skills in a Business Pitch.” The session was conducted by Dr. Jaspreet Kaur, Head of the PG Department of English and Foreign Languages.

Dr. Jaspreet Kaur emphasized the importance of both verbal and non-verbal communication in professional and entrepreneurial contexts. She discussed how body language, tone, facial expressions, and confidence play a vital role in delivering an effective business pitch. Through interactive discussions and relatable examples, she demonstrated how entrepreneurs can use communication as a strategic tool to persuade investors and build trust with clients.

The session was highly interactive and engaging, as students participated in short exercises and discussions on presentation skills, active listening, and overcoming stage fear.

Flip the Script: Teaching through Role Play

Under the visionary leadership of our Principal, Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, and with the guidance of Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Deputy Principal and Head of the Department, School of Commerce and Management, GSSDGS Khalsa College Patiala, successfully organized the "Flip the Script: Teaching through Role Play" activity on 6th November 2025. The students from Mcom I and II took on the roles of teachers for B.Com I class, showcasing their knowledge and teaching skills. Dr. Rajwinder Kaur, Co-ordinator Commerce and Management Association, also shared her valuable words, adding to the enthusiasm of the event. The participating students shared their feedback, expressing how they felt being in the shoes of a teacher. It was a fun-filled activity with immense learning!
