Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College for Girls, Aakar (Patiala), celebrated NSS Founder's Day on 24 September 2026 in collaboration with the Department of Sociology and IQAC.The programme was organised on the theme “The Power Within: Building Resilience for a Meaningful and Successful Life.”
The programme was graced by the presence of Principal Dr. Gurtej Singh, who addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of self-confidence, resilience, social responsibility and a positive approach towards life. He appreciated the efforts of NSS and the Sociology Department in organising programmes that contribute to the holistic development of students.
The main resource person, Dr. Naina Sharma, Professor of Psychology, CDOE and Director, Women Studies Centre, Punjabi University, Patiala, delivered an insightful session on building resilience and inner strength. She encouraged students to recognise their potential, manage challenges positively and develop emotional strength for a meaningful and successful life.
Dr. Sukhwinder Singh, Assistant Professor, Women Studies Centre, Punjabi University, Patiala, also addressed the students and spoke on Gender Sensitisation, emphasising equality, mutual respect, gender awareness and the need to challenge stereotypes in society.
The programme was coordinated by NSS Programme Officer and Sociology Course In-charge, Assistant Professor Harleen Kaur, with the active presence of Co-Programme Officer Assistant Professor Arshjot Kaur. Assistant Professor Satwant Kaur collected the attendance sheets and feedback from the participants.
The programme provided students with meaningful insights into resilience, mental well-being, gender sensitivity and social responsibility, making the NSS Founder's Day a purposeful and enriching occasion.
ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਫਾਰ ਗਰਲਜ਼, ਅੱਕੜ (ਪਟਿਆਲਾ) ਵਿਖੇ 24 ਸਤੰਬਰ 2026 ਨੂੰ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਸਮਾਜ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਆਈ.ਕੋ.ਏਸੀ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ “The Power Within: Building Resilience for a Meaningful and Successful Life” ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ’ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਤੇਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਆਤਮ-ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ, ਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾ, ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਕਾਰਾਤਮਕ ਸੋਚ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾਦਾਇਕ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕੀਤੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਵਪੱਖੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਉਪਰਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਮੁੱਖ ਸਰੋਤ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਡਾ. ਨੈਨਾ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਆਫ਼ ਸਾਈਕੋਲੋਜੀ, CDOE ਅਤੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ, ਵੂਮੈਨ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼ ਸੈਂਟਰ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੌਂਸਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਕਾਰਾਤਮਕਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨ, ਆਪਣੀ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਡਾ. ਸੁਖਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਵੂਮੈਨ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼ ਸੈਂਟਰ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਜੈਂਡਰ ਸੈਂਸਿਟਾਈਜ਼ੇਸ਼ਨ (ਲਿੰਗ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲਤਾ) ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਲਿੰਗ ਸਮਾਨਤਾ, ਆਪਸੀ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਲਿੰਗ-ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਧਾਰਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ’ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਕੋਰਸ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ, ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਹਰਲੀਨ ਕੌਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਕੋ-ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਅਰਸ਼ਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਰਹੀ। ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਸਤਵੰਤ ਕੌਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਸ਼ੀਟ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਫੀਡਬੈਕ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾ, ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤੀ, ਲਿੰਗ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਰਥਕ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾਦਾਇਕ ਰੂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
