Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College for Girls, Aakar (Patiala) organized a noble environmental and community service activity on 16th May 2026 at Gurdwara Sahib, Aakar under the banner of Eco Club in collaboration with NSS & IQAC. The initiative aimed to help birds survive the scorching summer heat by encouraging people to keep water bowls for birds and protect biodiversity.
Keeping in view the rising temperatures and the need to protect bird species during extreme heat conditions, water bowls (pots) were distributed among the Sangat as a gesture of human service and environmental responsibility. The activity received an overwhelming and positive response from the community, and the Sangat highly appreciated the thoughtful effort of the college.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of the worthy Principal Dr. Gurtej Singh, who praised the efforts of the students and coordinators for spreading awareness regarding environmental protection and kindness towards living beings.
The activity was led by Assistant Professor Harleen Kaur, Eco Club Nodal Officer and NSS Programme Officer. Lecturer Rajinder Kaur, Member Eco Club, and Assistant Professor Arshjot Kaur, Member NSS, actively participated and motivated students during the event. Assistant Professor Satwant Kaur, Incharge of the Environment Course of the college, also accompanied the team and encouraged students to contribute towards ecological conservation and social responsibility.
Students enthusiastically distributed water bowls among the Sangat and appealed to everyone to place water for birds outside their homes during the summer season. The activity not only promoted environmental awareness but also strengthened the values of compassion, community service, and coexistence with nature.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਫਾਰ ਗਰਲਜ਼, ਆਕੜ (ਪਟਿਆਲਾ) ਵੱਲੋਂ 16 ਮਈ 2026 ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਨੌਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਨਿਮ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਕੜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਈਕੋ ਕਲੱਬ, ਐਨ.ਐੱਸ.ਐੱਸ. ਅਤੇ ਆਈ.ਕਿਊ.ਏ.ਸੀ. ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾਦਾਇਕ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਗਰਮੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵ-ਜੰਤੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।
ਵਧ ਰਹੀ ਗਰਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਦਿਆਂ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਰਤਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਡ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਰੱਖ ਸਕਣ। ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਗਤ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾਯੋਗ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਮਿਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਯਤਨ ਦੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸਰਾਹਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਇਹ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਤੇਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਨੁਮਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਗਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਆਰਡੀਨੇਟਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਦਇਆ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਹਰਲੀਨ ਕੌਰ, ਈਕੋ ਕਲੱਬ ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਐਨ.ਐੱਸ.ਐੱਸ. ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫਸਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਲੈਕਚਰਾਰ ਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਮੈਂਬਰ ਈਕੋ ਕਲੱਬ, ਅਤੇ ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਅਰਸ਼ਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ, ਮੈਂਬਰ ਐਨ.ਐੱਸ.ਐੱਸ., ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਐਨਵਾਇਰਨਮੈਂਟ ਕੋਰਸ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਸਤਵੰਤ ਕੌਰ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਸੰਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੜੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਰਤਨ ਵੰਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਹ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ, ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫਲ ਰਹੀ।

RED DIGNITY DRIVE
Menstrual Health, Gender Equality & Social Awareness Campaign about Waste Management
organized by NSS, RRC, Eco-Club & Sociology Course in collaboration with IQAC at Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College for Girls, Aakar (Patiala).
The programme was conducted under the able guidance of the worthy Principal Dr. Gurtej Singh Ji. The event aimed to spread awareness regarding menstrual hygiene, gender equality, dignity of women and proper waste management practices among students.
Assistant Professor Harleen Kaur addressed the students with an informative and inspiring speech on menstrual health awareness, breaking social taboos related to menstruation and promoting gender sensitization in society. She also emphasized the importance of hygienic practices and eco-friendly disposal of sanitary waste.
Dr. Harpreet Kaur distributed sanitary pads among the students to promote menstrual hygiene and encourage open discussions regarding women’s health and dignity.
A special screening of the movie “Padman” was organized as a meaningful educational initiative to create awareness about menstrual health, women empowerment and social change. The movie inspired students to understand the importance of dignity, equality and health awareness in society.
The programme witnessed the valuable presence and support of Assistant Professor Arshjot Kaur and Lecturer Rajinder Kaur, who motivated the students to actively participate in such awareness campaigns.
The activity proved to be highly informative, inspiring and impactful for the students and successfully conveyed the message of health awareness, social equality and women empowerment.

ਮਹਾਂਵਾਰੀ ਸਿਹਤ, ਲਿੰਗ ਸਮਾਨਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਚਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ., ਆਰ.ਆਰ.ਸੀ., ਈਕੋ-ਕਲੱਬ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਈ.ਕਿਊ.ਏ.ਸੀ. ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਫਾਰ ਗਰਲਜ਼, ਆਕੜ (ਪਟਿਆਲਾ) ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਤੇਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਂਵਾਰੀ ਸਿਹਤ, ਲਿੰਗ ਸਮਾਨਤਾ, ਮਹਿਲਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਚਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।
ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਹਰਲੀਨ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਮਹਾਂਵਾਰੀ ਸਿਹਤ, ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਧਾਰਣਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਨ ਅਤੇ ਲਿੰਗ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀਪੂਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾਦਾਇਕ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੈਨਟਰੀ ਵੇਸਟ ਦੇ ਸਹੀ ਨਿਪਟਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਡਾ. ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੈਨਟਰੀ ਪੈਡ ਵੰਡੇ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮਹਾਂਵਾਰੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਵਧੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਸਿਹਤ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਮਿਲੇ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਫਿਲਮ “ਪੈਡਮੈਨ” ਦੀ ਸਕ੍ਰੀਨਿੰਗ ਵੀ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਂਵਾਰੀ ਸਿਹਤ, ਮਹਿਲਾ ਸਸ਼ਕਤੀਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਬਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹ ਫਿਲਮ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਤਮਕ ਕਦਮ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਈ।
ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਅਰਸ਼ਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਲੈਕਚਰਾਰ ਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਰਹੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਮੁਹਿੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਹ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾਦਾਇਕ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਈ।

“My Mother’s Healthy Recipe” – Fireless Cooking Competition
Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College for Girls, Aakar (Patiala) successfully organized “My Mother’s Healthy Recipe” Fireless Cooking Competition on 11 May 2026 at A-Block Lawn under Poshan Maah Special: Honouring Mothers for Building Healthy Families. The activity was organized by NSS in collaboration with Eco-Club & IQAC under the able guidance of the worthy Principal Dr. Gurtej Singh.
The programme aimed to spread awareness regarding healthy eating habits, balanced nutrition, and hygienic food practices while honouring mothers for their important role in building healthy families. Students enthusiastically participated and prepared innovative and nutritious fireless recipes inspired by their mothers’ healthy food traditions. A few mothers also visited the venue and were specially honoured for motivating their children towards healthy lifestyles.
The activity was coordinated by Asst. Prof. Harleen Kaur, NSS Programme Officer & Eco-Club Nodal Officer, along with Asst. Prof. Arshjot Kaur, Member NSS, and Rajinder Kaur, Member Eco-Club.
The competition was judged by Assistant Professor Manpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor Ramneet Kaur, and Assistant Professor Natasha. The judges appreciated the creativity, nutritional value, hygiene, and presentation skills displayed by the participants.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਫ਼ਾਰ ਗਰਲਜ਼, ਆਕੜ (ਪਟਿਆਲਾ) ਵੱਲੋਂ 11 ਮਈ 2026 ਨੂੰ ਏ-ਬਲਾਕ ਲਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ “My Mother’s Healthy Recipe” ਫਾਇਰਲੈੱਸ ਕੁਕਿੰਗ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ NSS, Eco-Club ਅਤੇ IQAC ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਣਯੋਗ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਤੇਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਯੋਗ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸਿਹਤਮੰਦ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਦਤਾਂ, ਪੌਸ਼ਟਿਕ ਭੋਜਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਫੈਲਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਹਤਮੰਦ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਦਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੜੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਮਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਪੌਸ਼ਟਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੀਂ ਸੋਚ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਫਾਇਰਲੈੱਸ ਡਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਕੁਝ ਮਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਹਤਮੰਦ ਜੀਵਨ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਇਨਾਮ ਜੇਤੂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ:
