The Department of Human Genetics earlier known as the Department of Human Biology was established in 1970.Till date a number of major and minor research projects were granted to the department by various agencies such as UGC, ICMR, CSIR, DOE, DST etc. Most of the research scholars of the department are in the fields of immunogenetics,Biochemistry, human population genetics, biochemical genetics, c

ytogenetics,Cancer biology, molecular genetics and human growth and development. Till date 110+ PhD doctoral students have completed three research from the department.
