St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, in collaboration with Xavier University, celebrated Christmas with great enthusiasm, reverence, and festive spirit, bringing together students, faculty, staff, and members of the management as one Xavier family.
The programme began on a melodious note with Christmas carols presented by the Xavier Dhwani Club, which set a joyful and devotional atmosphere and reminded everyone of the message of hope and peace associated with the birth of Jesus Christ.
Addressing the gathering, the Rector, Rev. Fr. Joseph Sebastian SJ, shared an inspiring message highlighting the core values of love, peace, harmony, and compassion that Christmas stands for. He emphasized the importance of nurturing these values in personal lives as well as in the larger social context.
A significant highlight of the celebration was the release of a poetry collection titled “Whisper Beyond Silence”, authored by Mr. Tapeshwar Prasad. The book was formally released by the Rector and the Vice-Chancellor, marking a meaningful moment that celebrated creativity, reflection, and literary expression.
The programme continued with a video presentation on the story of the birth of Jesus Christ, helping students reconnect with the spiritual essence and historical significance of Christmas. This was followed by a lively and cheerful Christmas dance featuring Santa Claus, which filled the hall with laughter, joy, and festive cheer.
Adding to the celebration, the members of the management ceremonially cut the Christmas cake, which was then shared with all the students, symbolizing unity, sharing, and community bonding.
The celebrations extended beyond the formal programme, as the Xavier family of faculty and staff came together later to enjoy a lively Secret Santa game, exchanging gifts, spreading goodwill, and strengthening bonds of friendship and camaraderie, truly upholding the spirit of Christmas.
The Christmas celebration beautifully reflected the Xavier ethos of togetherness, joy, cultural harmony, and human values, leaving everyone with warm memories and renewed inspiration to carry the message of Christmas forward.
