| Six Sigma and Lean Thinking

Every organisation loses something to inefficiency, whether it is time, resources, or quality. The challenge is not just noticing this waste, but building the tools and mindset to reduce it consistently.

DMI's upcoming 3-day Management Development Programme on Six Sigma and Lean Thinking is built around this challenge, scheduled for 27-29 October 2026 at DMI, Patna.
The programme brings together Six Sigma and Lean approaches to process improvement, with sessions covering DMAIC, statistical process control, process bottlenecks, organisational waste, Lean philosophy, quality management tools, change management, and team building. Participants learn through management games, case exercises, discussions, and problem-solving led by the group itself.

It is designed for senior executives, managers, team leaders, operational staff, NGO members, research analysts, and academic faculty from public and private sector organisations.

| When learning moves beyond the classroom.

DMI’s Management Development Programmes create opportunities for this exchange beyond the institute. Recently, Prof. Debashish Kundu and Prof. Zeba Rushi conducted a two-day programme on Finance for Non-Finance Executives at Purabi Dairy, Guwahati.

The programme brought financial and accounting concepts into the context of managerial practice, with discussions around financial statements, cash flow, break-even analysis, working capital and other aspects of financial decision-making.

Professionals from different functions at Purabi Dairy participated in the programme, bringing their own organisational contexts and experiences into the learning process.

For DMI, engagements such as these are an important part of taking management education into the workplace and bringing real-world questions back into the learning process.

| From the regional round to the national stage.

The PDM 12 team has made it through to the National Financial Literacy Quiz 2026 Finals.

After making it through the Eastern Regional Round, our participants are now set to compete at the National Grand Finale of the NFLQ 2026, a nationwide competition that brings together undergraduate and postgraduate students around financial literacy and securities markets.

The Finals will be held in November 2026 at the NISM Mumbai Patalganga Campus.

| Occupational Health, Safety and Waste Management

Hazard exposure, worker health issues, and unsafe waste handling are ongoing risks in many workplaces. With the right practical skills, professionals can identify these risks early and manage them effectively.

DMI, Patna, is inviting applications for a 2-day Management Development Programme on Occupational Health, Safety and Waste Management, scheduled for 15-16 October 2026.

The programme covers occupational hazards and diseases, health surveillance, occupational hygiene, hazardous waste management, worker wellbeing, and digital tools used in occupational health and safety. Sessions combine lectures, case studies, practical simulations, discussions, and real-world examples.

It is designed for professionals working in municipal public health, environmental and safety units, facility management, policy, and CSR.

| One day to go.

Tomorrow, Lok Naad: Gram Swaraj to Climate Resilience begins in Patna.

Over the two days, the workshop will bring together community representatives, farmers, fishworkers, forest and indigenous communities, Panchayati Raj Institutions, researchers, universities, government departments, civil society organisations, development partners, students and young people.

The programme has been designed around the idea that climate resilience in Bihar needs conversations that can bring scientific knowledge, local ecological knowledge, institutions and lived experience into closer dialogue.

The sessions will take this discussion across climate vulnerability, forests and biodiversity, youth and climate education, agroecology, Panchayat-led climate planning and climate finance, and river systems.

| Gram Swaraj to Climate Resilience

On 19–20 September 2026, DMI, Regenerative Bihar and Asar Social Impact Advisors will convene Lok Naad in Patna - a two-day workshop on the relationship between climate change, local governance, community knowledge and scientific research in Bihar.

The workshop takes its starting point from a simple but important question: how can different forms of knowledge come together to inform climate action that is relevant to local realities?

Across two days, the programme will move through questions of climate vulnerability, forests and biodiversity, youth and climate education, agroecology, climate-resilient agriculture, Panchayat-led planning and climate finance, and the restoration of Bihar’s river systems.

For DMI, this conversation connects closely with its engagement with development, institutions, communities and the realities of Bihar. Lok Naad creates a space for these perspectives to meet and for ideas to be examined through dialogue, experience and practice.

| A placement ecosystem built for diversity
Graduating participants at DMI move into vastly different worlds: CSR and social enterprises, banking and financial services, government and parastatals, and agribusiness.

Professional Advancement Services (PAS) at DMI is built to support this range. It maintains long-standing recruitment partnerships across states, including Bihar, Gujarat,

Rajasthan and Maharashtra, giving participants access to organisations across sectors and geographies.
For the 2026 PGDM batch, this translated into 45 participants placed across 19 organisations, with over 70 positions offered by 35 organisations through campus placements.

| Artificial Intelligence for Non-IT Professionals

Marketing teams, finance professionals, HR managers, and development practitioners can all put AI to work in their roles. Yet many hold back, assuming AI is something only people with a technical background can use well.

This assumption is not true. Using AI effectively has less to do with coding and more to do with knowing which tools to use and how to apply them to real problems in your own work.

DMI's 2-day Management Development Programme (MDP) on Artificial Intelligence for Non-IT Professionals is designed to help non-technical professionals use AI with confidence.

Participants work hands-on with accessible tools including ChatGPT, Canva AI, and Excel AI, alongside sessions on AI-powered automation, decision support, human-AI collaboration, ethics, and applications within their own functional domains. No coding experience is required.
