The Central University of Kerala came alive with the colours, flavours and vibrant spirit of Onam. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Siddu P. Algur inaugurated the celebrations and highlighted the message that Onam is a festival that unites people beyond all differences.

Beautiful Pookkalams, traditional Onasadya, Thiruvathira, Uriyadi, Tug of War and a host of other cultural programmes and games made the celebrations truly memorable.

The two-day Induction Programme for our newly admitted postgraduate students concluded with inspiring words, meaningful interactions and valuable guidance for the road ahead.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Siddu P. Algur encouraged students to embrace positivity, honesty and human values, and reminded them to be responsive rather than reactive in the face of challenges. He also highlighted the importance of innovation, ethics, teamwork, analytical thinking and digital competencies in shaping the future.

Distinguished experts Prof. Tej P. Singh from AIIMS, New Delhi, and Dr. Atharva Poundarik from IIT Ropar interacted with the students. Registrar (i/c) Prof. V.B. Sameer Kumar, Controller of Examinations Dr. R. Jayaprakash, Dean Academic Prof. Joseph Koyippally, Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Rajendra Pilankatta, and Proctor Prof. P. Sreekumar also addressed the students. The programme was attended by Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, staff and students.

The Physical Education Wing of the Central University of Kerala is organising CUK Super League 2026 (Football) for students (Men & Women) on 7 September 2026.

As part of promoting diverse sporting activities on campus, Softball is also being introduced as a new sporting activity at the Central University of Kerala.
