The spirit of sportsmanship and unity came alive as the Central University of Kerala kicked off its Annual Athletic Meet ‘URJA 2026’ with great enthusiasm and participation!

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (i/c) Prof. Vincent Mathew inaugurated the event. Registrar (i/c) Prof. V.B. Sameer Kumar, Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Rajendra Pilankatta, Sports Coordinator Prof. K. Ali Akbar, and Student Council President Mr. Vivek M.S. addressed the gathering.

A vibrant student march past marked the beginning of the meet, with the School of Education securing first place for their impressive performance. URJA 2026 will continue until April 30.

The Central University of Kerala felicitated its talented students for their outstanding achievements at the 39th AIU Inter University National Youth Festival 2025–26, held at Sathyabhama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.

The University secured First Position in Skit and Third Position in both Classical Dance and English Elocution, reflecting the vibrant artistic talent and cultural excellence of CUK students on a prestigious national platform.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Siddu P. Algur congratulated the winners, appreciating their dedication and reaffirming the University’s strong commitment to nurturing talent across all domains.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by Registrar (i/c) Prof. V.B. Sameer Kumar, Dean Academic Prof. Joseph Koyippally, Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Rajendra Pilankatta, Cultural Coordinator Dr. K. On the occasion of the 136th birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the Central University of Kerala organised a commemorative function on its campus.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Siddu P. Algur, who presided over the programme, highlighted that Ambedkar Jayanti is not just a remembrance, but a call to reflect on his ideals and renew our commitment to building an inclusive and equitable society.

The keynote address was delivered by Prof. M.R. Gangadhar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Chamarajnagara University, who described Dr. Ambedkar as a timeless leader whose vision continues to guide the pursuit of social and economic justice.

Registrar (i/c) Prof. Sameer Kumar welcomed the gathering, and Dr. Asha S., Chairperson, Centre for Women’s Studies, offered felicitation. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ravi Kumar Kanaparthi. Prof. Joseph Koyippally, Dean Academic, and Dr. R. The Central University of Kerala has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vaidyaratnam P S Varier Ayurveda College, Kottakkal, marking a significant step towards strengthening academic and research collaboration.

The MoU was signed by Registrar (i/c) Prof. V.B. Sameer Kumar and Principal Dr. Bindu K.K. The partnership will focus on interdisciplinary research and knowledge sharing in areas such as physical sciences, life sciences, public health, and social sciences.

The Central University of Kerala, in collaboration with the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, successfully organised a two-day DST ANRF-PAIR sponsored International Symposium on Medical Technologies at the CUK campus.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Siddu P. Algur inaugurated the symposium. In his address, he highlighted that healthcare is currently experiencing one of the most transformative periods in human history, driven by rapid advancements in biomedical engineering, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and material science. These innovations are reshaping how diseases are detected, monitored, and managed.
