It was a tough call for me so as to join BITS Pilani or not, when my first international paper got published and I was thinking of pursuing MS instead. But somehow, as they say, your intuition knows exactly what is to be done, and in my case it held true. I packed my bags for this distant town of Pilani, and life has been a roller-coaster ride since then! Pursuing MBA from one of the finest universities in the country has truly been phenomenal. Be it slogging all night for the exams, attending telepresence lectures of professors from MIT, a midnight stroll through the mystically serene campus or rocking the grounds during Sunburn, it has been one hell of a ride.
In these past 8 months, I have learnt more from the people around than from textbooks. BITS MBA class of 2015-17 is a great confluence of ideas and cultures from all parts of the country, it feels like a mini-India. The best part of MBA is that you get to learn from the people with several years of experience in the industry and you do not feel like a fresher anymore. BITS has provided ample opportunities to realize and prove my mettle- being a part of the Top 5 teams nationwide selected for a B-Plan competition at IIT Madras, applying the “marketer” in myself while selling merchandise and raising funds and in turn becoming the most successful seller, and the most delightful of the tasks has been to manage the HR Club, ‘Manav’. It gave me a first hand experience of managing people and cultivating synergy for progress.
BITS MBA has gifted me the set of the most beautiful people in my life. I have learnt from each one of you. More than anything, I would miss these people when I pass out from here. What BITS really affects is the thought process in an individual. You are no longer the person that entered the institute months ago. It certainly refines your personality, intellect and outlook. It helps you in becoming “someone” from “anyone”, clad in utmost modesty and simplicity.
Would like to quote what I truly believe in life: “Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” - Steve Jobs
This post must not be skipped! It couldn't have been expressed more beautifully than by our very own Co-ordinator of HR Club. We wish you were a part of team Reflexionar as well. :P
