World Sickle Cell Day | June 19

Theme 2026: “Closing the Survival Gap: Equity in Sickle Cell Disease”

Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is an inherited blood disorder in which red blood cells become sickle-shaped, leading to anaemia, painful vaso-occlusive crises, recurrent infections, and potential organ damage.

Early diagnosis, newborn screening, timely treatment, genetic counselling, and community awareness can significantly improve quality of life and long-term health outcomes.

This World Sickle Cell Day, let us raise awareness, promote early screening, support equitable access to care, and stand with individuals and families living with Sickle Cell Disease.

Together, we can help close the survival gap and build a healthier, more informed future.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 💜

Our elders deserve dignity, respect, and compassionate care—not neglect, abuse, or isolation.

Elder abuse often goes unnoticed, yet its impact can be life-changing. By recognizing the signs and speaking up, we can help protect the well-being and rights of older adults.

Because caring for our elders is not just a responsibility—it is a reflection of our humanity.

A small act that saves big lives. 🩸

World Blood Donor Day, June 14th, is a moment to thank everyone who has donated blood — quietly, kindly, without expecting anything in return. Because somewhere, every few seconds, someone needs it. A patient in surgery, a child in treatment, or someone after an accident, waiting for a second chance.

Blood can’t be made. It can only be given — by people like you. If you’re healthy and eligible, one donation can save up to 3 lives in just a short visit. A simple act like this can mean everything to someone waiting for hope.

👉 Donate blood. Save a life today.

Every child carries a dream within them.

Some dream of becoming doctors, teachers, and leaders. But when children are forced into labour, those dreams are often replaced by responsibilities no child should have to bear.

Child labour takes away more than childhood—it steals education, opportunities, and the chance for a better future.

This World Day Against Child Labour, let's stand for every child's right to learn, grow, and dream without limits.
