Today College of Forestry, Ponnampet celebrated international day of Forests 2024 by organizing following events
1. To commemorate the day planting of saplings was done by the Deputy Conservator of Forests Virajpet Division Mr Jagannath, N H who is the alumni of College of Forestry, Ponnampet
2. Training programme on Sustainable Sourcing of Jigat to the farmers and students of final year B.Sc (Forestry).
The programme was inaugurated by the Deputy Conservator of Forests, Virajpet, Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde and Dr V Maheswarappa who served as the resource persons for the programme. Our former Dean Dr C G Kushalappa could able to join the interaction session along with the farmers and the representatives of N Ranga Rao and Sons, Mysore. 3.For the students - Elocution, Quiz and drawing competitions were conducted and prizes were distributed. College along with the NSS unit and Forestry Alumni Association were part of the event.
