ISR (Institute Social Responsibility Cell), Symbiosis School of Economics had the opportunity to visit the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, for an insightful experience that offered students a glimpse into the Academy’s rich legacy, traditions, and values.

The visit included a short documentary on the life and training of cadets, giving us a deeper understanding of the discipline, dedication, and perseverance that shape future officers.

We also had the opportunity to visit the Cadet Mess, witnessing the traditions and camaraderie that are an integral part of cadet life, followed by a visit to the NDA Museum, which beautifully showcased the Academy’s history, achievements, and legacy.

The experience highlighted the importance of leadership, teamwork, discipline, and service — values that extend far beyond the Academy.

On the momentous occasion of the 19th Foundation Day of Symbiosis School of Economics (SSE) and the 8th Foundation Day of Symbiosis Statistical Institute, Pune (SSI), we were privileged to host Chief Guest Dr. Ganesh Natarajan at the Common Induction Programme.

Marking the occasion, Dr. Natarajan celebrated the launch of his new book, “AI Took Your Org Chart: The Rise of Responsive Leadership in the Age of Machines”—a timely roadmap for navigating corporate evolution and leadership alongside generative technology.

Addressing the incoming cohort of economists and statisticians, he shared crucial insights on thriving in an era of rapid technological shifts:

1) Protect Your Cognitive Intelligence: While AI excels at predictive analysis, true mastery lies in using technology to learn faster without surrendering human critical thinking, nuance, and judgment.

2) The Power of Communication & Action: True impact demands a willingness to listen, articulate ideas boldly, and execute with clarity. As Joel Barker famously noted, "Vision without action is just passed time."

3) The '5F' Formula for Life: Success and fulfilment stem from 5 core principles:

At the Common Induction Programme and the 19th Foundation Day of Symbiosis School of Economics and the 8th Foundation Day of Symbiosis Statistical Institute, Pune, Prof. (Dr.) S. B. Mujumdar, Founder & President, Symbiosis, delivered a thought-provoking address on “True Education is Incomplete Without Ethical Values.”

Reflecting on the vision behind Symbiosis School of Economics and the role of education in nation-building, Prof. (Dr.) Mujumdar highlighted three essential dimensions of meaningful education:

1) Prioritise Quality Over Quantity:
While India has one of the world’s largest education systems, addressing challenges such as unemployment requires a sustained focus on quality education, academic rigour, and excellence.

2) Embrace Value-Based Learning:
Education must go beyond acquiring knowledge and skills. Academic development finds its true purpose when complemented by empathy, integrity, sympathy, and a strong sense of social responsibility.

As Symbiosis School of Economics celebrates its 19th Foundation Day and Symbiosis Statistical Institute, Pune marks its 8th, Vice Chancellor Dr Ramakrishnan Raman delivered an inspiring address to the joint gathering of students, faculty, and staff at Vishwabhavan Auditorium.

Addressing the incoming cohort at the Common Induction Programme, Dr. Ramakrishnan Raman outlined 7 Essential Lessons for navigating a fast-changing world and unpredictable job market:

1) Be Bold to Volunteer: Opportunities come equally to all—grab them, make mistakes, and learn without worrying about judgment.
