Industry Exposure in HVAC & Building Automation

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Technology, organized an industrial visit to Belimo Automation, Rabale, Navi Mumbai, under the ISHRAE Pune Chapter, with participation from 32 students.

The visit offered students valuable practical exposure to the HVAC and building automation industry, helping them understand the application of modern technologies in real-world industrial environments.

Students gained insights into:

🔹 Sensors and automation systems
🔹 Energy-efficient HVAC solutions
🔹 Building Management Systems
🔹 Innovation, precision, and sustainability in HVAC technologies

AICTE ATAL FDP

The Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Technology, successfully organised the 6-Day AICTE ATAL Faculty Development Programme on “Next-Generation AI-Driven Smart, Secure and Sustainable Systems: Cybersecurity and Cloud Integration”, conducted from 17th to 22nd August 2026.

The FDP brought together eminent experts from IIT Bombay, C-DAC, industry, academia, and cybersecurity, offering participants valuable perspectives on emerging technologies, secure systems, cloud integration, research, and real-world applications.

🌟 The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Nilesh Uke, Chairman, Board of Studies (Computer Engineering), SPPU.

🎤 The programme featured insightful sessions by distinguished resource persons including Prof. Rajendra M. Sonar, Mr. Mahesh Bhargava, Mr. Shrikant Sarda, Mr. Pramod Kambagouni Eediga, Dr. Hemant Jude, Mr. Yogesh Thanage, Mr. Sameer Vijay Bahalkar, Dr. Vanita Kshirsagar, Mr. Pankaj Pingate, and Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Pathak.

💡 The FDP included expert talks, hands-on sessions, research discussions, interactive technical sessions, and an industrial visit to C-DAC Innovation Park, Pune, making the learning experience comprehensive and application-oriented.

🏛 Exploring Traditional Knowledge in the Built Environment

The Department of Civil Engineering, Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Technology, organized a guest session on “Vastushastra – The Science of Balancing Life” for Second Year Civil Engineering students.

The session was conducted by Acharya Jaspreet Singh, who introduced students to the fundamental principles of Vastushastra and their relevance to the planning and design of spaces.

Students gained insights into how space, direction, energy, and the surrounding environment are considered within traditional planning approaches, and how these ideas relate to harmony, well-being, and balanced living.

The session was delivered by Dr. R. Gayathri, Master Trainer – Design Thinking, IIC Innovation Ambassador & Motivational Speaker.

🚀 A Great Start to the SIH 2026 Journey!

Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Technology successfully conducted its Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 on 12th September 2026, bringing together an incredible 170 teams and 1,020 students.

The event was a vibrant showcase of innovation, technical skills, teamwork, and problem-solving, as students presented solutions to real-world challenges with great enthusiasm and creativity.

🌟 We were privileged to have Mr. Shrikant Sarda, Chief Strategy Officer, Growth Sense Group and Co-Founder (Tech), Target PEAK by RevoEducation Pvt. Ltd., as the Chief Guest. His interaction and guidance added immense value to the experience.

👨🏻‍⚖️ A panel of 26 jury members contributed their expertise and valuable perspectives to the evaluation process.

Following the detailed assessment, 45 teams along with 5 waitlisted teams were shortlisted to move forward to the next stage of the SIH 2026 journey.
