The Second-Year students were invited to attend a special session, “In Conversation with Nimisha Pande,” at FTII which offered valuable insights into the evolving OTT landscape and the professional world of content creation.

The session featured an engaging and insightful discussion on pitching projects to OTT platforms, planning and developing content, understanding industry expectations, and navigating the opportunities and challenges of the digital entertainment space. A wide range of relevant industry issues were discussed, giving students a practical understanding of how ideas are developed, positioned, and presented for OTT platforms.

The interactive nature of the session enabled students to gain valuable perspectives from industry experience and better understand the creative and professional processes involved in taking a project from concept to platform.

Shaping Stories Through Sound!

Three days of immersive learning, experimentation, and exploration into the world of advanced sound design, led by renowned sound designer Vijay Rathinam for third year and fourth year sound specilization students.

From understanding the nuances of sound to discovering how it can transform emotions, atmosphere, and storytelling—our students got to experience cinema through a whole new dimension.

A workshop where we didn’t just hear sound—we learned to listen, create, and tell stories with it.

SOUND IS MORE THAN WHAT YOU HEAR. IT’S WHAT YOU FEEL.

We’re excited to host a Sound Design Workshop for 4th year sound specialisation students with Mr. Vijay Rathinam, MPSE — Golden Reel Award-nominated Sound Designer with 15+ years of experience across BBC, Bollywood and international cinema.

With over 70 feature films and shows to his credit, Vijay has collaborated with acclaimed filmmakers including Christopher Nolan, Brian De Palma, Peter Greenaway and Gabriele Salvatores.

The workshop will explore how sound shapes storytelling, atmosphere, character, emotion and the cinematic experience — with valuable insights for our students’ upcoming film projects.

Behind the scenes, where learning meets the industry!

This week, we had the opportunity to facilitate the shoot of an exciting music video featuring Vishal Pandey and his team. What made it even more special was seeing our very own students actively participate in the production as interns, gaining first-hand experience of a professional shoot environment. This is where classroom learning meets the real world. This is where future filmmakers are made! Vishal Pandey🇮🇳
