Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune (SIBM Pune), the flagship brand
of Symbiosis International Deemed University, is recognised around the world as one of the best B-schools in India. Established in 1978, SIBM Pune has been bringing quality management education to the student community for 37 years, with something new happening every day to keep students agile and engaged. Within five years of its inception, in 1982, SIBM Pune offered its students a learning-cum-training programme, providing summer internships. Soon, a trend was set, with supplementary training courses being included in the Pune University curriculum. It's no coincidence that ever since, SIBM Pune has been ranked among the top B-schools in India. A completely student-driven institute, many of SIBM Pune's major initiatives have been spearheaded by the Students' Council, which consists of nine teams. Students at SIBM Pune are entrusted with resources and responsibilities early on and are encouraged to take important administrative and policy decisions that sculpt the future of the college and the student body. In 1996, the institute moved to Lavale, a brand new campus with top-of-the-line infrastructure and the space for the institute to spread out. The past eighteen years have seen SIBM Pune grow from strength to strength and eighteen batches of quality managerial students have graduated from the hilltop campus. Students come to SIBM Pune from all parts of the world in search of knowledge, an opportunity to learn, and a chance to prove their mettle. What they are offered is not simply a world-class educational experience under the guidance of qualified, experienced and engaging faculty, but a home away from home.
