(SIBM Pune), the flagship brand of Symbiosis International Deemed University, is recognised around the world as one of the best B-schools in India. Established in 1978, SIBM Pune has been bringing quality management education to the student community for 37 years, with something new happening every day to keep students agile and engaged. Within five years of its inception, in 1982, SIBM Pune offered its students a learning-cum-training programme, providing summer internships. Soon, a trend was set, with supplementary training courses being included in the Pune University curriculum. It's no coincidence that ever since, SIBM Pune has been ranked among the top B-schools in India. A completely student-driven institute, many of SIBM Pune's major initiatives have been spearheaded by the Students' Council, which consists of nine teams. Students at SIBM Pune are entrusted with resources and responsibilities early on and are encouraged to take important administrative and policy decisions that sculpt the future of the college and the student body. In 1996, the institute moved to Lavale, a brand new campus with top-of-the-line infrastructure and the space for the institute to spread out. The past eighteen years have seen SIBM Pune grow from strength to strength and eighteen batches of quality managerial students have graduated from the hilltop campus. Students come to SIBM Pune from all parts of the world in search of knowledge, an opportunity to learn, and a chance to prove their mettle. What they are offered is not simply a world-class educational experience under the guidance of qualified, experienced and engaging faculty, but a home away from home.

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune hosted an insightful Catapult 2026 - Leadership Talk Series session featuring distinguished leaders from Cisco, bringing together diverse perspectives on AI, technology and the future of work. The session featured Mr. Anand Alshi - Director, Product Management, Mr. Hemant Samtani - Director, Customer Delivery, Ms. Anita Jain - Leader, Customer Delivery, Mr. Shantanoo Lonkar - Leader, Customer Support, Mr. Akhil Deshpande - Program Manager and Ms. Sucheta Hardikar - Leader, Customer Delivery.

The engaging panel discussion explored the growing demand for AI, architectural shifts, prompt engineering, privacy and cybersecurity. The speakers also addressed how students entering the workforce can embrace AI effectively, highlighting that while some roles may be transformed by AI, new opportunities will emerge. The ability to leverage AI thoughtfully and adapt to change will be essential for future professionals.

The discussion offered a valuable perspective on navigating an AI-driven business environment while developing adaptability, critical thinking and continuous learning. It encouraged students to view AI not merely as a technology but as a powerful enabler of innovation, productivity and meaningful career opportunities. Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune was honoured to host Mr. Subham Agarwal, Senior Partner, Nuvama Private (formerly Edelweiss) for Lumière - The Guest Lecture Series 2026, organised by the Research and Scholastic Development Team (RSDT), for an insightful session on Dividend Policy.

The session offered students valuable insights into the fundamentals and strategic relevance of dividend decisions. Through practical business perspectives and engaging discussions, Mr. Agarwal explored how organisations balance shareholder expectations, reinvestment requirements and long-term growth while formulating effective dividend policies.

The interaction helped students connect financial management concepts with real-world corporate decision-making, providing a deeper understanding of how dividend policy influences capital allocation and shareholder value. Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune had the honour of hosting Mr. Mangesh Gholap, as part of the Catapult - Leadership Talk Series 2026. The session, titled “Turning Insights into Impact: Where Humans Matter in the AI Era”, offered students an insightful perspective on the evolving intersection of technology, data, financial crimes and human judgement.

During the engaging session, Mr. Gholap explored how organisations can turn data into insights, decisions and measurable impact while keeping humans at the centre of critical decision-making. He discussed the evolving landscape of financial crime, AI’s dual role as a threat and defence multiplier and the importance of combining human judgement, AI and governance. He also highlighted the need for data literacy, domain depth, responsible judgement, change leadership and understanding business to make better decisions.

We sincerely thank Mr. Gholap for sharing his valuable perspectives, practical experiences and insights on navigating careers and decision-making in an AI-driven world. Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune had the privilege of hosting Nivaan 2026: Energy That Empowers, the annual sustainability initiative organized by the Social Impact Cell, SIBM Pune. The two-day event brought together students, industry leaders and changemakers to explore the role of innovation, collaboration and sustainable energy in shaping a resilient future.

The event began with Chakravyuh 3.0, a competitive quiz and virtual escape room that tested participants’ logic, strategy and teamwork. It was followed by PactaNova MUN, where delegates engaged with global issues and negotiated impactful resolutions. On Day 2, Ecovate challenged finalist teams to develop innovative, sustainability-driven solutions to real-world business challenges. The event concluded with a panel discussion on “India’s Energy Transition: Can Sustainability Become India’s Next Economic Advantage?” featuring, Mr. Jeevan Kumar Jethani, Sr. Director/ Scientist-F, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of Bharat, Dr. Madhuchandrika Chattopadhyay, Senior Consultant, Renewable Energy & ESG, RSM India and Mr. Prashanth Venkataramana, Chief Technology Officer, Oorja Development Solutions Limited, moderated by Mr. Debmalya Sen, President - IESA . The discussion explored clean energy, sustainability, innovation and the opportunities shaping India’s future.

Through Nivaan 2026, students gained valuable insights into sustainable innovation, responsible leadership and the role of energy in driving future-ready growth. Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune through its Co-Curricular Team, hosted Colosseum 2026 under the theme “SHATRANJ”, bringing together MBA 1 and MBA 2 for an exhilarating face-off that blended strategy, creativity, talent and competitive spirit.

The day brought together a diverse line-up of management and cultural events. Wazir, a strategic management challenge; Shah-Maat, a test of business strategy; Rajneeti, a mock election; House of Harmony, a musical showdown; Twirls of Triumph, a dance spectacle; and Drapes of Destiny, a fashion showcase. With every event bringing its own challenge and energy, both batches competed fiercely while the auditorium came alive with spirited participation and enthusiastic cheers.

After a gripping series of showdowns, Colosseum 2026 concluded on a high note, bringing together moments of fierce competition, creativity and camaraderie. From strategic decisions to captivating performances, the day reflected the versatility, competitive spirit and vibrant energy of SIBM Pune.

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune was delighted to host Mr. Akshay Gangrade - Head of E-Commerce, Britannia Industries Limited, for an insightful session under Creatovate 2.0 - Create & Innovate with Britannia. The session provided students with insights into Britannia’s evolution from a biscuit-focused organisation into a diverse food portfolio, its vision for category expansion and its approach to understanding changing consumer needs.

Mr. Gangrade highlighted the importance of innovation, consumer-centric thinking and commercial viability, with a focus on becoming the go-to choice for Gen Z, understanding the evolving needs of homemakers and innovating for Gen Alpha. Students also explored the fundamentals of the marketing mix, pricing strategies, e-commerce and the potential of AI in research, ideation, content creation and analytical decision-making.

The session concluded with the launch of the Creatovate 2.0 business case competition, encouraging students to develop original, scalable and data-backed solutions to real-world business challenges. With case themes spanning Gen Z Consumers, New-Gen Homemakers and Gen Alpha, students were encouraged to challenge conventional thinking and transform innovative ideas into impactful business solutions.
