SIU recently welcomed a distinguished delegation from Warwick University, UK, to explore opportunities for strengthening international collaboration and academic partnership. The delegation featured Professor Virinder Kalra, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International), Professor Parveen Kaur, Warwick Manufacturing Group, Ms. Emily Lim, Associate Director, International Strategy and Relations,The University of Warwick.

The delegation first engaged in a meeting with Dr. Ramakrishnan Raman, Vice Chancellor, Symbiosis International University (SIU) along with Dr. Anupama S. Kotur, Head - Symbiosis Centre for India Australia Studies (SCIAS), International Academic Programs, Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE), Ms. Manasi Phatak (Joshi), Head, International Collaborations - Mobility programs, Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE), Ms. Sonali Hardikar, Executive, SCIE and Mr. Sandeep Singh, Senior Officer, International Academic Programs - SCIE. The discussion featured an engaging exchange of ideas on Transnational Education (TNE), highlighting key areas where both universities aim to grow and collaborate. Dr. Raman emphasized on shared valuable insights on the strategies and initiatives already implemented at SIU to strengthen global engagement.

The delegation further met Dr. Ketan Kotecha, Dean-Faculty of Engineering, Director- Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT-P) along with Dr. Anindita Roy, Head- Internationalization and Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department, SIT-P, Dr. Anupama and Ms. Sonali . Dr. Koetcha enthusiastically shared insights on the institute’s academic strengths, emerging focus areas such as Artificial Intelligence, and ongoing initiatives to foster global collaborations. The interaction centered on exploring opportunities for joint research, academic exchange, and progression pathways, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing innovation, enhancing global exposure, and building impactful international partnerships.

An inspiring confluence of global knowledge and innovation unfolded as SIU welcomed delegates from Queen Mary University of London, UK. Dr. Pailo Oliva, School of Electronic Engineering & Computer Science, Dr. Salim Mohamed Salim, School of Engineering and Materials and Mr. Abhishek Boral, Senior Recruitment Adviser – South Asia Global Engagement Queen Mary University of London engaged with students and faculty through insightful sessions and meaningful discussions. The interaction fostered a vibrant exchange of ideas, offering valuable global perspectives while paving the way for strengthened academic ties and future collaborative opportunities.

The delegation visited Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune (SIT-P) where they met SIT leadership. The meeting centered around engaging discussions on key themes such as internationalisation, enhancing student and faculty mobility, and expanding avenues for academic collaboration. A significant highlight was the exchange on ongoing projects and cutting-edge research in robotics and automation, showcasing innovative experiments and real-world applications. Fostering meaningful International collaborations, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) (SIU) was happy to welcome a delegation from Maynooth University, Mr. Brendan Tighe, Associate Director - TNE Project & Partnerships. The visit commenced at SIU where he met Dr. Ketan Kotecha, Director- Symbiosis Institute of Technology Pune (SIT-P), Dean- Faculty of Engineering and Symbiosis international collaboration team- Dr. Anupama S. Kotur, Head - International Academic Programs & Symbiosis Centre for India Australia Studies (SCIAS) at Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE), Ms. Sonali Hardikar, Executive, SCIE, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Senior Officer, International Academic Programs, Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE). The meeting focused on evolving trends in the Higher education system.

Dr. Kotecha emphasized the development of progression agreements between universities to enhance student, faculty and research mobility. He also highlighted emerging domains at SIT-P, including Artificial Intelligence, that are open for collaborative initiatives. Dr. Kotur actively highlighted the key areas where SIU already has taken steps that are being implemented in our campus to enhance inclusion and innovation in the educational sector of various domains. Mr. Brendan also emphasized on their interest of areas like research collaborations, increased students & faculty mobility and a shared vision to drive impactful research, nurture talent, and contribute meaningfully to both local communities and the global academic landscape.

The meeting featured an engaging and forward-looking discussion exploring potential avenues for academic collaboration, particularly in media studies and interdisciplinary programs. SIU expressed keen interest in developing meaningful partnerships that foster global exposure, collaborative learning, and innovative academic initiatives with Maynooth University.
