MIT-WPU is committed to nurturing future-ready policymakers with its Undergraduate program, BA Honors (Government and Administration) & Postgraduate Program in Public Policy. Our undergraduate program, BA Hons (Government & Administration) or BAGA is probably the first undergraduate program in the country, the syllabus of which is benchmarked against the UPSC (Civil Services) examination. BAGA pro

gram not only improves readiness of students for various competitive examinations, but also provides them an exposure to the policy making process. Similarly, our Postgraduate in Public Policy or PGPP stands apart on account of its Pra-cademician model of learning. Pra-cademicians are the eminent practitioners in various fields, who would leverage their experiential learning in Public Policy while mentoring the students. They include representatives of multilateral organisations, current and former civil servants, leading consultants, representatives NGOs and members of policy think-tanks, among others.

MIT-WPU’s School of Public Policy and Public Concern for Governance Trust (PCGT) is jointly organizing the “Late B G Deshmukh Memorial Lecture Series” with the theme- “Governance and Administrative Reforms: Challenges and Opportunities”.

The Annual Public Lecture Series has been instituted in the honour of Late Shri B. G. Deshmukh, IAS, Former Cabinet Secretary, Government of India and Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. The basic objective behind the Annual Public Lecture Series is to explore and enlighten the youth and public about the challenges in governance in India.

The Session will include address by the Special Guest of Honour Dr. Sanjeev Chopra – IAS (Retd.) Former Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) will speak on topic - Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav: Steel frame ‘then’, ‘now’ and for the ‘future’ and the Keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Hasmukh Adhia - IAS (Retd.), Hon’ble Chancellor, Central University of Gujarat will address on the topic ‘Good Governance’.

The event was part of the lecture series organized by the Government of India as part of the 75th Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
