🌍 Poster Exhibition on Climate Change Awareness 🌱

The Climate Change Cell under the Institute Innovation Council (IIC), Department of Civil Engineering, successfully organised a Poster Exhibition on Climate Change Awareness on 30th March 2026 at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Campus.

👨‍🎓 A total of 45 students from B.Tech (Civil Engineering) Semester IV actively participated in this meaningful initiative.

🎓 The event was inaugurated by Dr. R. H. Jadhav, Head of Civil Engineering Department, who appreciated the students' efforts towards environmental awareness.

👏 The activity was very well organized and coordinated by Prof. Pooja D. Pawar, whose guidance and efforts made the event highly successful.

We are pleased to share that the B.Tech (Civil Engineering) Semester VI students visited the Effluent Treatment Plant at Katraj Dairy on Monday, 23rd March 2026, as part of the Wastewater Engineering course.

The visit was conducted by Prof. Pooja Pawar to provide students with practical exposure to wastewater treatment processes in the dairy industry. Students observed key treatment stages such as screening, sedimentation, aeration, and sludge management, and also learned about important parameters like BOD, COD, and pH.

The visit was highly informative and helped students understand the real-world applications of wastewater engineering. All students reported on time and maintained proper discipline throughout the visit.

🚇 Expert Lecture on “Technical and Design Aspects of Pune Metro”

The Department of Civil Engineering, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Engineering, Pune, in association with ISTE, successfully organized an expert lecture on “Technical and Design Aspects of Pune Metro” on 11 March 2026 at the Central Auditorium.

The lecture was delivered by Mr. Atul Gadgil, Director, Maha Metro Rail Corporation Ltd., who provided valuable insights into the planning, design principles, construction challenges, and modern engineering practices involved in the Pune Metro project.

✨ The program also featured:
• Inauguration of the Green Innovators Club to promote sustainable engineering initiatives among students
• Signing of MoU with Monarch Surveyors & Engineering Consultants Pvt. Ltd., Pune, represented by Mr. Sanjay Vidwans, to strengthen industry–academia collaboration
• Smile Foundation Scholarship distribution, where a deserving girl student received a Laptop and ₹1,00,000 financial support for higher education

The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Shri G. Jaykumar (Registrar, BVDU) and Dr. Rajesh Prasad (Principal).

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from 350+ students and 50+ faculty members, making it a highly informative and inspiring session for the academic community.
