Students of the School of Engineering, NICMAR University, Pune, gained valuable practical exposure through an industry site visit and a hands-on workshop:
* Visited the ESR Project at Bavdhan, Pune, gaining insights into foundation engineering, geotechnical investigation, and construction practices.
* Participated in a hands-on workshop on Drone LiDAR-based Surveying & Mapping, exploring emerging geospatial technologies and their applications in civil engineering.
These experiences strengthened the connection between academic learning, practical applications, and emerging technologies.

An enriching and highly practical industrial site visit to the CIDCO EWS Mass Housing Project by L&T Construction, Panvel, Mumbai, was organized for M.Tech. (CTM – Semester I) students of NICMAR University, Pune. The visit, facilitated with the support of L&T EduTech, provided students with valuable exposure to the ex*****on of large-scale mass housing projects using precast construction technology. Students visited the prefabrication yard, observed the er****on of precast modules, and gained real-time exposure to the er****on and fixing of a precast wall panel into the main structure. The visit also provided insights into the construction and ex*****on of the Stilt + 23-storey buildings. As part of the industry exposure, students underwent a Safety Induction, attended a Project Overview Lecture, and received a detailed briefing on the Quality Control and Quality Assurance practices adopted at the project. The visit effectively connected classroom learning with real-world construction practices and enhanced students’ understanding of precast technology, construction safety, quality management, and the ex*****on of large-scale housing projects.

The School of Architecture and Planning, NICMAR University, Pune conducted an intensive 9-hour hands-on Revit Workshop in collaboration with SW Systems for B.Arch Second Year students over three weeks.
The workshop focused on developing complete architectural drawing sets through 3D modelling, views, sections, annotations, schedules and sheets, while introducing BIM workflows to enhance students’ academic practice and industry readiness.

The School of Construction (SoC), NICMAR University, Pune, organized an insightful Industry Expert Session on “Autodesk Forma for Construction” on 9 September 2026, featuring Suvam Chatterjee from Autodesk Education, and Rahul Mhaske and Ashwini Sarkar from Blueprints Design Team.

The session provided practical exposure to Autodesk Forma for Construction and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), with insights into cloud-based document management, model coordination, Common Data Environment (CDE), design and construction collaboration, issue management, and connected digital workflows across project teams.

Through industry case studies, live demonstrations and real-world problem statements, the experts demonstrated how Autodesk’s digital ecosystem can support better information management, coordination and decision-making across construction projects.

The engaging interaction helped connect academic learning with current industry practices and highlighted the growing importance of BIM, cloud collaboration and integrated digital construction workflows.
