MIT India inaugurated the Industry-Institute Reconnect Summit (IRS) 2026 at Hotel Tip Top International, Wakad, Pune. The two-day summit brings together more than 100 participants from across the country, with a focus on strengthening dialogue between academia and industry and exploring new opportunities in the fields of talent, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Built around the theme “Reconnect,” the summit brings academia, the corporate sector, startups, investors, entrepreneurs, alumni, and students together on a common platform. The key objective of IRS 2026 is to shape the future of talent, innovation, and entrepreneurship through meaningful collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The event is witnessing the presence of many distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, staff, and students from the MIT India family, all coming together under one roof to exchange ideas, share experiences, and strengthen the bond between education and industry.
Mr. Divijay S. Karad, Group Director, MIT India, conveyed a message to all, “The concept of ‘Reconnect’ lies at the heart of what we aim to achieve through IRS 2026. The gap between academia and industry requires continuous engagement, collaborative problem-solving for societal challenges, and creating opportunities for students and innovative researchers to work closely with industry.”
IRS 2026 is also witnessing the participation of policymakers, senior academic leaders, industry experts, and senior representatives of MIT India. Eminent personalities include Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Gosavi, Vice-Chancellor, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Mr. Kedar Dev, Executive Director, EY, along with other distinguished guests and key stakeholders.
The summit aims to foster stronger industry-academia partnerships, encourage innovation-driven collaboration, and create new pathways for developing future-ready talent and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
