21st August 2026 | Guest Lecture & Workshop at M.A. Rangoonwala Institute of Hotel Management and Research, Pune

M.C.E. Society’s M.A. Rangoonwala Institute of Hotel Management and Research, Pune successfully organized an insightful Guest Lecture on “Grape Anatomy & Wine Regions” followed by an engaging Workshop on “Art of Mixology” for the B.Sc. (HS) students.

The session was conducted by Planetfluid Bartending Academy, Pune, providing students with valuable industry-oriented knowledge and practical exposure to the world of wines and mixology.

The session covered important aspects such as grape anatomy and structure, major wine regions of the world, wine styles and characteristics, basic mixology, bar tools and equipment, and mocktail preparation, garnishing, presentation, hygiene and safety.

The practical workshop gave students an opportunity to understand how creativity, technique, presentation and flavour balancing come together to create professional beverage experiences.

We were honoured to have Mr. Samadhan, CEO, Planetfluid Bartending Academy, share his extensive industry experience and valuable insights with our students. His practical knowledge and professional expertise made the session highly informative and inspiring.

M. A. Rangoonwala Institute of Hotel Management & Research observed National Anti-Ragging Day on 12th August 2026 to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of ragging and the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful campus environment. The college also observed National Anti-Ragging Week from 12th to 18th August 2026 through awareness and sensitization activities. The initiative encouraged students to “Say No to Ragging” and promoted a ragging-free, safe and joyful campus for all.
The sessions were conducted by Mrs. Chanda Supekar under the able guidance of Principal, Prof. Dr. Anita Frantz.

The session focused on educating students about the dangers and legal consequences of ragging, emphasizing the institution's zero-tolerance policy. Students were also informed about the mandatory Anti-Ragging Undertaking Registration Form, which they are required to fill out as a commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment on campus.

Rangoonwala Institute of Hotel Management & Research observed Anti-Ragging Day on 12th August 2026 to create awareness among students about the harmful effects and consequences of ragging. Students were sensitized about the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment. The activity emphasized friendship, kindness, mutual respect, and responsible behaviour among students. Students were encouraged to speak up against ragging and report any such incident without fear. The programme concluded with a message to collectively promote a ragging-free, safe, and positive campus.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mrs. Abeda P. Inamdar, Chancellor, Dr. P. A. Inamdar University, Pune, and President, M.C.E. Society; Prof. Irfan Shaikh, Secretary, M.C.E. Society; trustees and members of the Governing Body; and Directors of all sister institutions.
